So, does anyones groinal responses/ arousal or what ever you want to call it, can it be stronger than normal arousal? Like I exposed myself to sex scenes and arousal is stronger than regular arousal w my husband. š
But Iām not looking for it , weāll actually I donāt know if I am or not. I was just expecting it because Iāve had them before and knew that I would get it again with sex scenes . š I told my therapist and she said that itās suppose to arouse someone, thatās the point of sexual scenes. Many times, unrealistic bodies etc etc
@68273 If you frequently have it happen, youāre naturally going to be on the look out for it, or expect it to happen.
Yep. Youāre hyper focusing on it and looking for it, so makes sense. Donāt assign meaning to it!

I am in recovery, thanks for asking. Am I cured? Nope, and I do have my flare ups, but I use my ERP tools and they don't last very long, nor are they as severe and anxiety- provoking as in the past.
I am treating POCD and I worry that I am going to do something against my values on an impulse and the best thing for me has been to listen patiently to the intrusive thought/feeling and then to hold on to the emotion attached to it for a few moments. I accept that it is true, that I could do that thing, it is always a possibility because it is a choice, and then I let the feeling sit with me for as long as it needs to while going on with my day. Anyway, you got this and you can do this!

There's your answer. It's not unusual to love your spouse and still have some kind of stimution when you see a sexy picture or video involving someone you find physically attractive, especially when you've been with someone a long time. It's being human, regardless of OCD. The OCD may be trying to make it a bigger deal than it is, to get you on its treadmill. If you have no interest in cheating, don't beat yourself up over it.
@Steven55! š¬ Iām Just freaking out because I had a therapy appointment w nocd and the therapist said she referred someone to a sexual identity therapist , someone w this theme and I went into panic. Although, she reassured me that Iām in the right place and I donāt need this kind of referral. š

@0876 No, she said itās because he didnāt want to do erp. He wanted to see a sexuality therapist and not do erp for ocd. I guess he didnāt accept he had hocd. She sent him out but she said they might send him back because obviously itās just ocd

Iām not really sure how i feel. I thought i had pocd with groinal responses but I literally canāt get the arousal to go away at all. Like all day Iāve been hyper aware of how my groin feels. Itās also like during all thoughts and conversations. I know Iām worried Iām a monster and itās making me sick but i also feel like the constant state of arousal is actually NOT POCD related but just. Something else. Can anyone else relate? Itās really hard to not focus on it.
Can anyone relate to having HOCD thlughts (or any form of sexual orientation OCD) and getting aroused by them? I don't mean a groinal response (tingles, twinges, etc.) or arousal-non concordance (when you're groing get's aroused but your mind doesn't), or confusing stress with arousal... I literally mean getting aroused (both mentally and physiologically) by unwanted thoughts in repeated occasions (frequently) when you test yourself? Basically like if it was a sexual fantasy, with the exception that it's a torture that you have found through compulsions. I never wanted to think any of this and I still hate and wouldn't do any of the content of my thoughts. But this happens to me and makes me feel SOOOOO in denial and anxious even though I've never had sex, interest, attraction or desires for a man (or a transexual, which is my other HOCD topic).
Iām constantly feeling unwanted arousal by my thoughts and it feels more intense than normal arousal. Itās driving me crazy. Any movement down there causes it, any of the thoughts I hate causes it. Itās all day everyday and I cannot focus. Itās super confusing because the physical part obviously has a good feeling but I hate how it is being caused so itās a very BAD feeling. Iām so scared.
