@Anonymous Also, my biggest compulsion with every form of OCD I’ve had (SOCD POCD ROCD) has been checking or being aware my groin area. Just stop doing it. There’s no reason to. It just makes things worse when you think you’re making it better by being aware. It’s obviously easier said than done but just make it a point to say back to your OCD “I’m noticing I’m noticing my groin area way to much right now” or something like that. It really goes a long way

Thank you for your reply. I think what causes my problem is just a generally reduced libido due to constant anxiety some depersonalization and super tense pelvic floor muscles from constantly flexing my groin muscles to see if there's any movement down there but OCD doesn't give a shit about rational explanations. I'm not having a problem getting or staying erected but with reaching orgasm and sensestions during sex in general, I just don't feel anything. But my health concerns on top of all that will also try to convince me that there is some underlying health issues causing it wich makes ERP quite difficult because my subconscious mind is trying to tell me that it can't work even if I want to because of this strange illness the doctors can't find. But I know that if I let sex become the enemy in my head this will only get worse. How did ERP for you looked in praxis for this particular issue?

@Redextrem By any chance do you still watch porn? Internet porn can train your brain to think you don’t want the real thing and would rather watch porn ERP was tough it was a lot of watching gay couples talk, coming out stories, a coming out script etc. but it 100% worked in the long run. Your brain will try and tell you that it will not work or it’s not working but honestly I just think that’s how you know it is working.

@Anonymous Honestly bro basically accepting that you “could” be gay is how you beat the shit out of this. Saying back “we’ll I could be gay but I’m not gunna be” goes an insanely long way. After all, you can’t just turn gay against your own will. And you also can’t then asexual against your own well. If you’ve had sexual feelings before, chances are you are not asexual

@Anonymous I never really got into porn but I developed a pretty unhealthy habit of masturbation to prove myself that i don't suffer from ED and that everything still works as it should, I became one of my compulsions, sometimes masturbating 3-4 times a day without any pleasure just to feel the relief of knowing that it still works. Stopped doing that about 3 month's ago and didn't notice any change. Would you recommend reading about ED disorders or watching stuff about it on YT as an exposure?

@Redextrem Definitely bro. Watch Asexual people talk about their sexuality as well. Quit masturbating for awhile. It took me almost 180 days for my ED to subside. I never thought it was gunna end. Just trust bro this will all blow over if you just don’t give a fuck about it anymore. There’s nothing wrong with you at all it’s just your brain trying to keep you in its trap

@Redextrem Make sure that your reading and watching does not turn into a compulsion. I had trouble with this at first. Read and watch things once no matter how bad you want to watch it again. It just turns into reassurance and compulsivity.

@Anonymous How long did it take you to have a relatively "normal" sex life again?

@Redextrem Not gunna lie it took awhile but it was well worth it. I struggled with ED for about two years before the OCD came. But once I started trying to treat the OCD, that also started treating my ED because I stopped masturbating, stopped watching porn, etc. I started having OCD themes in November of 2022 so let’s just say from November 2022 to april 2023 (about 6 months) it took for me to have a normal sex life. I still get intrusive thoughts during sex but I know that’s all they are. They do not define me or what I like. Trust me bro, there were days I thought I’d never have sex again. I didn’t even feel like a person some days. But now I can confidently say that me and my girlfriend have a normal sex life after putting in some work with ERP, as well as stop flooding my brain with horrible dopamine from porn and masturbation. Not saying that masturbation is bad but quitting for a month and going back in moderation can go a long way for your mental as well as your sex drive.

@Redextrem I also meant to say that NOCD has a sexual content group every Tuesday night at 6pm Central Time. Im on the east coast so it’s 7pm for me. It’s awesome and has really helped me in my journey. It’s led by a therapist and there’s a lot of people going through the same thing as we are. I highly recommend it even if you just go and listen.

@Redextrem Ahhhh gotcha. Sorry I shouldn’t have just assumed you were in the US. There’s a lot of people on there that are in the UK, im not sure where you are but there are definitely people from Europe who join the group if you feel up for it sometime I know that it would be in the middle of the night on your end.
