The tips she mainly gave we’re about learning, learning what OCD is and lessening the hold it has by believing it’s OCD and nothing else. I find saying ‘thank you for that’ to my thoughts helpful and brushing them aside.

Well about an hours drive away. I'm currently waiting erp, but thinking of going private too. So currently I'm just having group therapy for young men with sexual issues

Not far away at all then,I'm also waiting to see a psychiatrist then hopefully a therapist but thinking the private route may be better. How are you finding the group therapy? Is it going well?

I’m American but I lived in Birmingham for a while! Are you going through nhs or are you on private?

I paid for a private counsellor for 3 years and am from the West Midlands, she was amazing and was the one to diagnose me and I then went to my doctors, I don’t currently see her and try and manage my OCD with what she’s taught me, good luck with finding what works for you ☺️

I'm finding group therapy helpful. Its good to talk to other guys about sex related issues and relationships on an emotional level in person. I joined the group because I identify as a sex addict and have fear of intimacy with women

Morganw... Wow you lived in Birmingham that's not far away from me ?where do you live now? I'm waiting for a physiatrist appointment that's threw the NHS but I don't have a lot of faith in them to be honest. Rachel23.. That's great glad to know someone here from the Midlands! Your counsellor sounds amazing! I definitely need to look into the private route I think it will be better for me What were some of the tips she gave you? If you don't mind sharing ? Progress.. I'm glad to hear it's helping you! It's good to be around like minded people who are going through the same problems! And it's really good that you joined the group it's really brave. I considered group therapy unfortunately can't seem to find any near me that specialises in ocd..

Thank you Rachel ☺️❤️ I've started to learn a little bit more about it by reading a book by Jon hershfield called over coming harm ocd. I've got a pretty good awareness that it's just ocd and doesn't mean I'm a bad person or anything but sometimes it's easy to forget that ? thanks for sharing your tips ☺️

Mines harm I suppose, I worry that I hear voices and that I’m going crazy, i constantly check and focus on my thoughts and sounds, I have lots of different themes though but I mostly focus on harm

I'm sorry to hear that Rachel ? have you ever tried any self helps books? Or some videos on YouTube sure there's some that cover what you are talking about. Hope youre feeling well ☺️ I think my main and only one is harm. Although I think I have some obsessions around my sleep. Didn't know sleep ocd was a thing until the other day. Always here if you want to chat ❤️
