If a person finds out that you have been in hospital for 5 days and they wish you well but do not offer to visit you or even do not ask you if you need anything, are they still a friend? The hospital is within a walking distance from their home.
Sounds frustrating to me! Maybe they like dont know how to be of service or whats appropriate to do. I lt like still shocks me that my exbf didnt visit me too when i was in the hospital
That's a friend, checking you out. Sometimes people don't have physical time, but you're in their thoughts. Its okay to ask your friend to come over if you need a companion. š«¶
She works only 2x a day for 2 hours. The rest of the time she's at home. Her husband works 12h every second day and she has all the time she wants and needs to do whatever she wants.
yeah thatās still a friend. i feel like if you want them to visit then u should ask them too. they may not even know that u want a vistor or they may be busy. if my friend was in the hospital i would wish her well but i wouldnāt visit unlesa of course if she was about to die or was in like a coma but ur friend knows that she will get to speak to you either otp/text or once u get out of the hospital. she wished you well so to me that means she is a true friend .
I have not asked her to visit me, I would have actually kindly refuse had she offered, because I know I would have put her in an unpleasant position where she would have to lie, make up excuses why she can't come. I am sure of that. And she is not afraid of hospitals or sth like that. I don't need her to come here, nor to bring me anything. I just wondered if she would offer to.
Hi. She had no idea I was in hospital. She'd promised to invite me and my husband for a coffee at her home, to actually get to know my hubby(they have met but not really spoken), but nothing. Now 17 days late, since my hubby was supposed to be away again for work, she saw my hubband is still here and it dazed and confused her. She wanted to feed her curiosity so she sent me a text message asking about the coffee, but in a way as if it was my fault she 'd lied. And then I told her that I was in emergency intensive care unit for 5 days, (being 1 step away from heart attack or stroke, since my BP was 197/120 + Diabetes 2) And that now I am at cardiology unit. She didn't even ask how I was. She just said, "I wish you well. Coffee when you come out!" Last winter and spring she and her family were ill quite often ( had a cold or flu) and every single time I asked her if she needed sth, like for me to go to a pharmacy or shop for them, help at home,... Now I end up in hospital, she doesn't even know why and she would never offer any kind of service, help,.. Now I am confused. Better word: disappointed. It bothered me so much I couldn't sleep so I asked for your opinion.

Well... I have decided she doesn't fit into my description of a friend. I am not being egotistical or selfish. It's just my 1 year experience with her. I moved here. I've been jobless for 5 years now. I invite her out for a coffee and ice cream for my birthday. We text on my BD, but she not once wished me happy birthday. A present from her? She a week later said she had one for me, though she never gave it to me. So on my BD she told me she would go with me for coffee and ice cream. We set the time. I got ready. She was late. I sent her a text if all is ok. She said she wasn't in the mood any longer. So after almost a month, her majesty finally found the time for me. We went out. But she decided she wanted more. A whole meal in a fancy restaurant. If a pizza in an average restaurant costs like 9ā¬, in this one it's 150%more expensive. It is nothing special. I told her I was not hungry. She pushed and pushed and insisted. So we went. She had the over 20ā¬ pizza and a salad and a large glass of black wine and a desert and I had a small salad and a small Panna cotta. My part of the bill was all together round 6ā¬, her part over 30ā¬. I had barely enough money for food that week. She knew my husband worked 300 km away and I was jobless, she knew we had to go for 6 or 7 weeks of not seeing each other, because my husband wasn't able to come due to lack of money. I had been saving some money to buy B12, Omega 3, vit D3 for myself. Well, she literary ate it. She never offered to pay. She said it had been my BD anyway. Yeah, over a month ago. And yeah, I wanted to go for coffee and ice cream not to a full meal in the most expensive restaurant in time. I was quiet and paid. She again didn't wish me well. No sight of the mentioned present. I met her in September 22. Her BD is in November. I sold sth of mine to get the money to buy her a nice present, because I didn't have any money. I sold it, bought and gave her the present and wished her well on her exact BD. She never even said Happy birthday. And if you're wondering if she took me out for a coffee on her birthday. She had a celebration, I wasn't invited. My BD was in April 2023. She knew me for 8 months and not even happy, let alone birthday. Do you still think she is a friend?
One of the hardest parts of my day is seeing all the people around me doing all the things I canāt with ease. I hope they know how lucky they are.
hello all! i am relatively new to nocd and kinda interested in finding a support person on this app. i am 22 years old, struggling with many forms of ocd, anxiety and depression. i have friends, but at the end of the day they truly donāt understand whatās going on in my brain. with this post, i am hoping to find someone similar to my age range and what not so we can have eachother to lean on for support. thanks for reading!
Does anyone else wish there was a chat feature to speak with a coach or counselor on here? I guess they might worry that people will seek immediate reassurance, but sometimes being all alone is horrible. I have had non stop adrenaline since Friday and being alone like this feels 10x worse. I visited someone yesterday, and Iām trying to hold out to see my therapist tomorrow but itās so difficult. I am so alone.
