I've had this discomfort in my right foot for the whole day and it's never been like this before. I'm afraid that I let my eating habits get the best of me for too long. I don't have any other symptoms of diabetes but this really scares me. I even get tingling in my feet by just crossing my legs while sitting down
The tingling feeling most likely is an effect of your OCD (or at the very least is being exasterbated by your OCD). By putting so much focus/attention on it, you're feeling it way more than you would normally and thus causing the feeling to stick around. A tingling sensation can be caused by so much more things than diabetes; I've had this same fear several times before with different symptoms and I've ended up fine every time š I know distraction can be a compulsion, but try finding a way to distract yourself and see if the feeling lessens or outright leaves once you're not paying attention to it.
Someone else said that and I just have trouble believing something that's mostly mental compulsions is doing this to my foot. I hope I end up fine but I've always been worried about my health. I want to see my doctor but I keep putting it off. There were moments where I didn't feel it at all but very briefly short lived times. Before this came up I had three bowls of cocoa puffs and I think all that sugar got this started. I only had a salad and hot dogs today and. I'm not getting the heavy symptoms like I said but it's still scary.
@BigGyro09 You'd be surprised the power mental health has over our physical bodies. I mean, think of stuff like that one condition where men get so stressed (usually by their wives pregnancy) that they begin exhibiting all the symptoms of a pregnancy themselves! It's a very real thing. And OCD is known for all sorts of false feelings and sensations. I dont discourage you from talking to your doctor if you do think it is serious, but also recognize that OCD has a lot more power than you realize and it could very much be the main issue at play here for something that might not bother you otherwise.
@Northern_Downpour That's really crazy. I really didn't know it could get that bad. At worst, for me I have brain fog, headaches, dry mouth, dry throat, and now this weird sensation in my right foot. I really do want to get a checkup from my doctor and get recommendations on what I should do in order to take care of myself. I'm a bit overweight, but im worried that there's other things I may need. On one hand, I'm thinking this is someone to do with exercises I did for my back. But on the other, I think it's too do with just how much I ate yesterday and last night. But, don't you need tingling in both feet for it to be bad? I'm not sure.. I just wish I was better with dieting and being picky about what I eat. I just eat whatever is served from my home mostly.
@Northern_Downpour I also remember the time when my skin would have itches that I couldn't scratch. Whenever I scratched the itch, I would feel it but then not feel it. It was a very weird sensation, but it went away. I can't believe OCD can get this bad.
I say something like thanks brain. Thanks for letting me know I may have diabetes. Yep I may have to get insulin or watch what I eat thanks ocd brain. Then move on. Get therapy up and going for some scaled exposures. If you get so anxious you have to bail and do a compulsion itās ok. Therapy will help you.
What exposures are you doing in therapy?
I still need to see my therapist to get started with all of that. But for this, I'm just trying not to do googling compulsions

Get some blood-work done, check your A1C level, and you'll know if you have Diabetes or not. That's how I found out.

tell me whyā¦ idk if this is just me but iām so scared i have ovarian cancer, kidney stone, kidney failure, UTI, hernia, or something wrong thatās making my lower stomach to my inner thigh and pelvic area. i have an uncomfortable feeling. it was hurting more last night then it is todayā¦ everytime i pee it doesnāt hurt but i somewhat still get the uncomfortable feeling down there and feeling in stomach. iāve been googling and idk what to do because iām scared of the doctors and i havenāt had a physical like in 2 years and iām like scared if i go to a physicial i will have something wrong with me like i have cancer or something that i donāt know about. something tells me the pain tho in general is something gastrointestinal related but idk if could mean i have pain down āthereāā¦. i took a tylenol last night it helped a little but then it still kinda occurred and i took a tum and itās still the same i think itās still occurring since iām so hyper focused about it. idk iām just like ugh my OCD was doing so well i just canāt tell what it is or if something is wrong iām just scared :( i hate when having certain pains i freak out.
Idk whats going onā¦my mental state hasnt been great these past two weeks. My eating is being affected in a neg way due to transition between therapists, school, and ignoring my sexualityā¦.Ive been taking several different kinds of quizzes over the past week regarding mental health and ED and i realized that if i dont eat enough to feel full iāll end up sick or worse dead. It doesnāt help that i also just started my period. And i just woke up in the middle of the night with food, hydration, and possibly not waking up in mind. And tried going back to sleep but then i realized that I might actually have a problem on my hands and that jolted me awake. Now im scared of sleeping and not making it through the nightā¦.i could easily get up and make myself an oatmeal even though im not hungry atm, but dont wanna wake family that are sleeping in the living room. Im scared of dropping more weight than I already have been and having my nutritionist interveneā¦. Im realizing that im fucking myself up from not eating well and being too picky and i wanna slap a bandaid on it and just eat everything to hopefully gain some weight before my next nutrition appt. Iām just scared of things getting worseā¦.is this part of OCD or is it just me just plain out ignoring my body cos in feeling like it??? Idk what to believe about myself anymoreā¦.
Starting to think I have unresolved childhood trauma unfortunately. Health OCD is also driving my absolutely crazy but I'm too scared to go to my doctor. I worry about diabetes, illnesses, cancer, skin problems, etc. I just hope everything works out in the end. Right now I just can't do the things I love doing because I'm constantly worrying about everything. All of my worries are exacerbated and I just can't keep them away. They only come back.
