Health anxiety.. can someone talk?

Hey! I can promise you the cysts are fairly common in women, ESPECIALLY those with stress and anxiety. But it doesn’t automatically mean you have cancer, rn see it as it is NO MATTER how much your mind races. They are cysts and they can be taken care of in so many ways! The lump in your throat, I’ve felt that before it was so constant that I would continuously have someone check if my throat was closing, it wasn’t, anxiety can form so many false feelings, especially the throat sensation, did you know that that’s just your anxiety trying to protect you, try to allow the feeling to come and pass. It’s terrifying I know but once your mind realizes there’s no threat your entire body will begin to relax and that lump in your throat feeling will pass. You got this. Anxiety induced panic isn’t factual it’s just your body being super overprotective, remind it that your safe and that if it needs to feel those feelings that you allow it but that it’s capable of protecting you without the overprotection.

I feel for you, I know OCD is so hard. Have you done any treatment with an OCD specialist? I think this would really help you to develop an individualized treatment plan.

Health anxiety/cancer fearing person here. It's terrifying, feels so real. I get it. I get you. Won't tell you it will be OK but I'll tell you that you are strong enough for whatever ocd throws at you. I have new sensations almost everyday. Even hiccups scare me into thinking I have cancer. Hang in there. You are not alone.

Same. Lump in throat issue years ago. Didn’t know it was anxiety. 30 years later - it’s back with reflux. Anxiety can manifest lots of symptoms. My therapist says “feelings aren’t facts”. Acknowledge it and move on - move a muscle, change a thought. To get your mind off of it and stop fueling it.
