Mildew Laundry Contamination OCD

Don’t worry too much about this and don’t focus on it too much. Everybody has already smelled a bit bad in their life and most people won’t even notice the smell. Wear all your clothes as usually, put deodorant on and a bit of perfume. Also maybe you sweat a bit on your way to class and it’s not the dryer? Sometimes we don’t really realise if we’re sweating and trust me, nobody notices a little sweat. You’re gonna be fine and DONT let your brain tell you to wash all of your clothes now and simply continue as usually. That little bit of sweat won’t ruin your life and esp nobody will say anything. Most people have smelled worse in their life. I sit next to a girl who smells pretty bad due to bad hygiene and I‘m still alive and breathing normally 😅

It’s nothing to stress about. I’ve had this happen, put some vinegar in the washing machine and rewash. You might have mildew on your clothes, you might now. You take rational steps to deal with it if you do

Just think of what someone without OCD would do? I can tell you if it were my partner, they would wear the clothes anyway and let them go through the natural cycle of ending up in the wash again and then you could just take the measures then to wash them with a laundry sanitizer to get rid of the smells. Mildew smell is pretty common on clothing, especially if you leave them sitting in the washer too long. Which idk what your laundry habits are but it sounds like you have obsessions with how you wash your clothes so you probably let them sit longer to avoid the inevitable ocd cycle. I can tell you that having a mildew smell on your clothes is annoying but it’s not going to harm you or contaminate anything. If you want to do an exposure, you could just do as I said before and wear them anyway.

I have had do much obsessions about my clothes, laundry and so forth. The best advice I can give you is to not try to "fix this" in any way. Just continue to use the clothes in exactly the same way as if these thoughts hadn't showed up.
