I am using this app’s therapy service and have completed what they consider a “full course” of therapy. I have found my OCD reduced by 70-80% and definitely believe it is thanks to the therapy. I have however decided to continue therapy with having sessions once a month. Mainly for just maintenance and/or for potential flare-ups. I say if you can afford it, try it! You can cancel anytime 😊.
@H1598 Thank you! I haven’t had luck with therapists around me even ones who claim to specialize in OCD so I’m desperate
@Morgan It took me some trial & error. I tried traditional therapy and though it helped me with other things it did not have the impact that ERP does via this app’s form of therapy. I’m still working on my OCD but I feel like I’ve finally regained control of my life.
@H1598 Did u take medication or was it all with help of ERP?
@kd88 It was all predominantly with ERP alone. I did however try a few herbal supplements in the beginning to support the process. But I eventually stopped taking them routinely and now only use them on days when I’m more anxious than usual.
@H1598 Sounds good do u mind if I ask what herbal supplements you use?
@kd88 Of course :). What helps me the most is taking L-Theanine from the brand StressRelax. You can take it up to three times a day as needed. I find it great to take with onset or prior to a stressful event. The other supplement I tried which cannot be taken together, is the KSM-66 Ashwaganda from the Vitamin Shoppe brand. That one takes time to take effect as you will have to take it daily for some time in order for it to built up to a “therapeutic level”. Of course prior to trying either or be sure to check that you aren’t allergic to it and make sure it does not interact with any medication you may be on. I hope this helps.
@H1598 Thank you I’ve been on Zoloft in the past and worked really well and eventually went off of it when felt better but u know ocd comes n goes and when it comes back I feel it comes back strong so I’m always so tempted to go back on Zoloft but I try my best to not be on meds which is why I was asking what supplements you take. Is ocd the same way with u? Where it comes n goes😫😏😏
@kd88 I totally understand where you are coming from. And yes for me it comes and goes, and loves to change themes from time to time as well. It’s no fun when it sticks to what you value the most. But with ERP and having found a natural supplement that works for me, it makes facing my OCD and managing it a lot easier. Stay strong :).
@H1598 That’s great I’m happy for u since u understand how difficult it can be to calm your mind. Yes it will change theme as well for me but I try my best to understand where it’s coming from
@kd88 It is always nice to know there are people out there who understand what it’s like and how well woven OCD can be into our daily lives. & Yeah knowing the root-cause of it helps me immensely (sometimes it’s obvious and sometimes it takes some figuring out).
@H1598 Just be mindful if you have PCOS ashwandga will trigger acne
@Morgan Ah I did not know that. But luckily that is not an issue for me. Thank you for letting me know though.
@M1133 I’m praying for you. I hope you find the right therapist.
I dont know what the insurance would look like for you, I had to copay $15 for each session but my insurance is Kaiser. As for the therapy it's helpful! It's ERP and if you click with your therapist it's a good place to get treatment weekly.
Personally I find the ERP therapy a little hit or miss. It is best to verify with your insurance company as a starting off point to check if it might be covered at all .
i am starting NOCD therapy on monday and was just curious on others’ experiences! what happens in your sessions, generally speaking? how do you feel during and after? i’m excited but also nervous to start. i’ve been in talk therapy for years with minimal improvement with my ocd, so im hopeful to start feeling better.
Hello! I am trying out and looking to partake in therapy, but I literally don’t know what is good. So could use some personal perspectives. Thanks
I need a therapist who specializes in Pocd I’m struggling please tell me how much can you discount me because NOCD doesn’t take my insurance
