It was too much for her and I don't blame her. She was freaked out about it. My OCD is really bad with unbearable themes. We planned our whole life together and I lost it all because I can't control my stupid brain. I've hit rock bottom and I don't know if there's any saving me
I know it's tough right now but I've been there multiple times. The last loss pushed me to get better. You're not beyond saving and I'm sorry you're going through this. If you're in therapy, doing erp or anything like that, as rubbish as you feel now you can use this pain and heartbreak like rocket fuel to get better. Every time it gets tough, just tell yourself you will get better no matter what and you'll never let it ruin a relationship again. Trust me, heartbreak is healing fuel if you use it. Stay strong. You can get better
That is really awful man, I don’t know what to say really except you can get help and heal yourself with erp. It’s not perfect but it does help make life livable from my experience. I may be out of place here and I apologize if I am. But I hope for you that you can find a love that will support you with mental health issues and all. I do know what heartbreak feels like though and it’s gotta be hard on top of the OCD. You can definitely get help though. Also I would be careful about how much you share with certain people because people without ocd don’t understand. My wife knows I suffer from intrusive thoughts but I don’t share the content with her. If this makes you feel better she at one point cheated on me because I was suffering so bad I couldn’t have sex and wouldn’t really share what I was experiencing and would be a jerk a lot. I tried to explain the best I could but it all fell apart. Some guy picked up on her displeasure and convinced her I was probably having an affair. Doesn’t excuse her behavior but I’m just trying to relate. I forgave her as so we could raise our kid together. But it was awful. I really suggest doing therapy on here.
thanks for sharing your experience. I struggle with finding the fine line between overhearing and being transparent/honest with my partner. I have ROCD and it's usually partner focused, so it doesn't feel helpful to share all the time... but at the same time I don't want to lie to my partner and tell them everything is ok
Sharing the content was probably the mistake I made. I did it months ago and she said she tried to forget about it but I've been deteriorating since and she finds it hard to look past it.
You are not alone
So, so sorry to hear. Try to not think to far into the future. Don't critizise your brain or yourself. OCD is a terrible disorder. Are you in treatment? Can you reach out for someone who can suppport you a bit? Sometimes it feels like there is no light in the tunnel, but it is, even if uou can't see it by now.
I was in therapy here but I hit some financially hard times and had to stop early on. I'm from the UK so I don't have insurance for this and the mental health service here are subpar to say the least.
