Anyone else feel unheard about their struggles?

Both would be good. Empathy is good, and so is sympathy. Obviously they're a little different, but both good. And I don't really feel like I get a lot of either

@Anonymous Well we can’t make ppl agree with us. It is nice when ppl listen but that doesn’t mean they have to agree

@JordTheNord It doesn't seem people care to listen though. And I'm just getting warn out trying to find someone willing to listen who won't actively try to change my mind each time I bring it up. I've met people who have felt similarly in the past as well, but they seem to want to change my mind too, and we have big enough differences in our perspectives to make me not feel like they can really relate to/understand how I'm feeling

@Anonymous It’s not a great feeling when we feel we can’t connect with others. Also the world isn’t met to connect with every thought/belief we have. We have to walk in our own strength. It does get lonely sometimes but remember ppl also feel the way you do (nobody listens or agrees) and it may be about different things but at its core you/we’re the same. So really we aren’t alone. Maybe they don’t want their mind changed on the subject too. That’s what your idea probably makes them feel.

@JordTheNord If they understand how it feels, then why when I just needed an ear did they decide they didn't feel like hearing me out? If they're like me, then they want to be heard too. Why didn't they listen then? Why were they too busy arguing? Did they just decide my situation wasn't worth listening to? When I needed them most, they weren't there to support me. They said they were but they weren't, and they didn't want to listen to my feelings, only to disprove them.

@Anonymous Great questions. Let’s tackle em. Just because ppl are like us and are going through the same things it doesn’t mean we or even they are aware of our own behaviors or have even the mental capacity to listen and be there for others and only focus on ourselves. Even some ppl on here struggling with the same thing get on here ask their questions for themselves and don’t engage anywhere else. They’re not bad ppl it’s just multiple factors are affecting us to not be the highest form we humanly can achieve. Also, to be fair you could be in the same boat as them: when they say their ideals you want to say yours as well and they might think that’s not listening too. Not saying you’re not idk the conversations being had and how they proceed but disapproving people’s feelings is something a lot of ppl do unknowingly because they think they’re right and helping. Also listening to ppl takes effort and a skill set. Sorry to hear though because it’s a lonely feeling to go through. Do your best to keep your head up and keep moving forward. Remember ppl don’t have to agree with us and listening is hard for some ppl. Keep doing your best to being supportive for others and treat them how you want to be treated. Don’t worry ppl will listen but it doesn’t equate to agreeing. We have to find inner strength when we stand alone in our beliefs.

@JordTheNord Yeah, but people are kinda weird about it. I feel like I spend more time listening to them talk about my issues than I myself talk about them! I agree with treating others as you want to be treated, but even then I don't feel like my needs are being met Sorry it took so long to reply. I don't remember getting a notification

@Anonymous No worries! Yea I feel that for sure. Some ppl just be like that 🤷🏼‍♂️. Do what you can to not have high expectations on them and to be around ppl who listen to you
