Making decision

Jesus Christ bled and died on a cross, offering you and me an option. A gift. Forgiveness, reconciliation with God and eternal life. You and I don’t have to accept Christ. We don’t have to respond to His love positively. We can be apathetic, and ignore Him and even outright reject Him. Or we can choose to trust in Him. I’m asking you , isn’t it time for you to move beyond alternative options?—to Christ? Because there are really big problems with every one of those options. Isn’t it time to put your trust and your faith in Jesus Christ? Because the evidence is He really does love you. He really is a good God. Give Him a chance. Read the Gospels. Examine Him carefully. And then based on the evidence of His trustworthiness put your faith in Him. God bless you as you make this most important decision.

This makes me sad almost. I wish I believed, but I can’t. I tried following the faith but I realized it was my OCD and was solely fear-based. I respect Christians, they are so kind and good to the world and to the unborn as well. Sending love <3

@Rumpelgoocher Hello! You CAN believe. Jesus died for everyone. He loves you. Truly. But He cannot save you unless you accept His gift! You see? He invites you into His family gladly if you will come to Him. Don’t let Satan or even yourself or others tell you lies about Who Jesus truly is. I too have severe ocd and am part of God’s family. Jesus didn’t come to put us in bondage of fear and fear of “oh if I don’t do this God will punish me”. I too used to think that way, until I realized by God’s Grace that Jesus truly loves me however I come to Him and accepts me. He says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest” in Matthew 11:28. It is impossible to say that there is no God, as well, because that would mean that there is also no such thing as right and wrong if there is no God who made it that way. Please reconsider this decision. Don’t you feel Him knocking on the door of your heart? That feeling of sadness—that’s Him. He wants you to let Him live you. Please invite Him in. Also remember that feelings are not Jesus—feelings are simply feelings. Jesus didn’t come to make a new religion—bit came rather to save those who are lost (all of us). I promise you that when you have Jesus in your life He will never leave you. better than that, HE promised us that in the Bible in Hebrews 13:5: I will never leave you nor forsake you. Please, listen to this message. It is very good. I know it’s hard to bring yourself to because of that feeling drawing you away—it’s hard for me too. But just try listening to this message. @hannahmae14 I believe in a God and a creator, however I always struggle to connect the Bible and Christianity to his existence. I find some of the things in the Bible to be questionable.

@Rumpelgoocher That link I pasted talks about many things that prove Christianity is so different from mere religion. I would love if you’d listen to it. Truly. Jesus is real, and I know that may sound unreliable and like people just follow Jesus because they are looking for comfort. But Jesus, even though He died for us thousands of years ago, He raised and is coming back soon. Why do you think so many people are still being saved and following Jesus? He came to save, and will come again to judge. I do not want you to have that fate. I also do not want this to freak you out ! But I must warn you. I must tell you of Jesus’ Amazing gift and love for you. That He wants you in His family. He created you for so much more than just living and dying.

@han ;) But I am going to accept that none of us truly know the truth and that’s ok, nothing to be anxious about. As the OCD saying goes, maybe, maybe not :) I tried to force myself into belief for a long time, and all I got was guilt, more questions, and very strong fear of damnation, but not a lot of peace or joy as was promised to me. I wish you health, love, and joy and that you will beat this OCD!

@Rumpelgoocher When you accept the True Jesus, there is no “maybe or maybe not” or what if’s about our security in Heaven. He permanently secures our salvation once we accept Him. He will not throw us out. God who created love itself loves more than anyone. I know it’s easier to say, “maybe He isn’t real…” But I just want you to know that Jesus is real, there is a hell and a Heaven, and all will justly go to hell without Jesus. It’s simply the truth. I know that may sound like God is cruel but in reality He is loving and good—He came to earth to DIE for us so that once we simply accept Him we will not need to fear and say “maybe I’ll go to Heaven now”. Please don’t shove aside this questioning mind you have. It is good. Jesus is knocking at the door of your heart. Please let me ask: If you died tonight, where would you be? Yes, this is a very troubling question which is why we run from it. But we need to make a decision. Yes to Jesus’ Love and free Gift (not condemnation and guilt, which is actually from Satan not God), or no. Religion is a burden. Christianity is freedom; not to sin as we please, but real true freedom where God says we are GOOD! This is what every human heart desires. Does this help?

@Rumpelgoocher Also, nowhere in the Bible does Jesus promise perfect lives on earth. People often promise you this when you accept Jesus but they are trying to sugarcoat the Gospel. On the contrary Jesus says that we will have much tribulation on this earth. But we will go to Heaven and be in Joy and Peace and Love with our Savior when we die. And, on this earth, we will always have Jesus. Through it all He will be with you. And of course we shall enjoy the gifts God gave to us in this life. The Bible says to be joyful when you go through troubles and weakness because God’s strength is made perfect in your weakness—therefore you are strong because you rest on Him. Do you understand? When you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, you will not be automatically perfect and all your problems solved. But you will never be alone again because Jesus went through literal hell for us so that we can go to His home in Heaven. I hope this helps. Any other questions?

Yes this is a very common thought. Let me tell you first of all, that God owes us nothing. If someone murders a child and a mother, and goes to court and says “I’m sorry”—it is not enough. Why? Because that person treated those people he murdered as less than what they are. There is a debt that has to be paid. Well, why then do we treat God different than how we demand to be treated? Why do we think it is unfair and cruel of God to not allow us to just say “I’m sorry” when we sin against Him —our creator—. A debt has to be paid in order for God and us to be reconciled. Most people like to say that everyone is God’s child. But In the Bible we learn that we are not all God’s children. Only when we accept Jesus and His sacrifice (the debt) can we be Apart of God’s family. This is live not cruelty. This is common sense. We can’t treat God like He owes us forgiveness. He doesn’t. We owe Him everything. And He is only just if He punishes us for what we did. His mercy , however, is amazing because He loves us enough to die for us so that if we simply accept that gift—we will be saved and live in Heaven. Our lives on earth will be anything but perfect. There’s no escaping that. But we will be loved and have a purpose and hope. Will you accept Him? Are you perfect enough to go to Heaven ? No. No one is. That’s why God came to save us. Then, as stated in the Bible, He can be just and the JUSTIFIER of everyone who believes in Jesus. We wouldn’t want our earthly judges to say to that murderer and everyone else, “oh ok. You’re sorry. Well, I’ll let you go”. How do you think the family and friend of those people he murdered would feel? It is simply not logical to call God unfair because He is Just.

Bible and Christ

Is it possible to follow Christ without actually believing? I want God but don't always trust and especially with Jesus/Christianity. I want to believe and I don't but I am still drawn in; it is comforting and compelling. I like what Jesus represented, I like the teachings (although don't always seem practical and seemingly so hard to live up to), and I LOVE Christian music. I love the community. It is so hard to embrace it really and it although gives me comfort brings on a lot of anxiety and confusion. I feel like I have no control to function when I am supposed to let myself be led; I don't even know what that means when I have to think and move my body to live. I want to have a strong faith in God in general without feeling condemned. I want to feel there is a God holding on to me so I don't feel so alone, restless, and lost. Who better to love than your creator? Who better to put your trust in to help you in times of despair. I cant help to think that the Bible is a myth and although if Jesus did exist was only a prophet. My conditioning and impulses are constantly rejecting it and so many times I opened myself up only to quit the next day because it doesn't stick. I am constantly met with rejecting thoughts and fear. It's not sustainable. At the same time, I love him and his story well I only read a little of the Bible and intended to sermons, etc. Another thing, how do I know what is the truth when I am getting interpretations of the Bible when reading, listening to others interpretations through pastoral sermons and other people voicing their opinion?

Religious OCD

I’m a Christian with religious OCD something I’ve always wondered as a Christian is why did God send Jesus to die on the cross why didn’t God die on the cross? Every time I think about that, my OCD calls God a bad word. even as I’m typing this, my mind is calling that bad word I don’t mean it and I don’t understand it. I know I would never say that last night when I had that thought I felt so sick. I ran to the bathroom because I thought I was going to throw up. it’s terrible and something that is not true, I’m sure you guys can figure it out it starts with a p. I don’t wanna kill myself, but I feel like that’s the only option (edited)

My mind seems to be imploding in on itself

So, alot has changed. I'm Christian and currently believe we are in the end of times. It's changed my whole perspective on life. I quit my job and moved back in with family, starting to go to church, apologized to those I hurt except, one person who I talked to two family members and they told me to delete the message and with my other apology ( that i also believed was God telling me to confess in 2020) i lied at some parts because of shame and confusing myself most likely intentionally. I confessed everything to my dad and he says since i turned from it, repented, that i need to let it go and continue forward. Since then, my minds been saying that I'm outside of God's will and everything's gone down hill. I had also prayed that God exposed me and now it's like all this evil and wickedness that feels like it's coming out of my heart settles into my chest. I've prayed to God, worshipped to God, but thoughts and images of being sent to hell or my loved ones pops into my head and I've gone to sleep twice each night accepting the fact that because of me not doing so may have doomed me and my loved ones and I feel scared that I got so tired and stopped fighting it. I've had ocd since I was 7 but it just is so scary because it's hitting down to the wire and I'm scared that I was never a child of God at all I mean I have iniquity I thought I repented for but people I love still struggle with what I've done and I prayed for them and tried to help them and suggest therapy but I haven't did what I could to make it right like I should've. But these images and thoughts they're horrible. I feel like I'm against God truly and I'm like Lord change the circumstances and I won't resist so that I can preach Your word and everyday I feel like I'm gambling. It's like every thought is biblical for the most part. I don't want to kill myself cuz what if I have a chance that God will have mercy on me but....
