So people tend to think OCD is when you have these certain rituals like not letting ur food touch or checking ur door lock several times to relieve you anxiety. However, pure O ocd usually lacks those physical rituals. Instead you obsess over thoughts like if your gay (homosexual ocd) , thoughts of self harm or suicide (harm ocd), pedophilia thoughts (POCD). These are just examples of pure OCD. However we tend to question why are these things OCD if there’s no physical ritual. There are rituals , they are mostly mental. Like reassuring yourself that ur not gay or that u don’t want to hurt urself , or avoiding things that might trigger those thoughts. That reassurance or avoidance are considering your rituals/compulsions just like washing ur hands or checking ur locks several times.

OCD: debilitating obsessions that can be related to trauma, environment, etc. Fulfill compulsions related to their obsessions in order to decrease anxiety, feel more in control, etc. are aware their compulsions are irrational but feel an extreme need to fulfill them anyway OCPD: similar but they fulfill their compulsions with the full belief that that have a greater purpose. people with OCPD believe that their compulsions are extremely rational and that their obsessions/reasons for fulfilling compulsions are bound to reality. by fulfilling a compulsion they are actively preventing an event rather than feeling like they are gaining control like OCD sufferers Pure O: debilitating obsessions with triggers but w/o the need to fulfill compulsions to control them. a person with pure O psychologically reacts to obsessions and responds to triggers like OCD and OCPD, but may feel an intense need to become withdrawn, fearful and critical of their actions rather than feel the need to satisfy or calm the obsession. eg, refusing to leave the house rather than compulsively taking excessive measures to remain unharmed outside the house

EOCD, HOCD, TOCD, ROCD, POCD: are all forms of OCD, but they are largely centered around a main theme of obsessions. this can be different to a person suffering with OCD - who may have obsessions of all different sorts, and obsessions which may not all relate to each other. this is usually due to how the person developed OCD. a person with a specific trauma as their OCD trigger may only have obsessions and compulsions regarding homosexuality (HOCD). a person who genetically gained OCD may suffer from existential, homosexual, and many more obsessions

but each person’s case is very very different. people may exhibit traits related to multiple OCD disorder types. the distinguishing (or rather, narrowing) of OCD traits experienced by a person is mainly only useful for A: helping professionals narrow down possible treatment options B: helping individuals recognize patterns in their way of thinking and reacting to their thoughts and environment
