I was on 3 different meds this week they all caused issues . Looking into hopefully getting my genes tested to see what medication might work best for me. I cant deal with the weeks of SSRIs making me think Im crazy. It just makes it worse . Whenever I contact my provider they say stop them immediately.
I kinda had the same thing. I just finished TMS therapy and it worked wonders on my depression. It doesn’t cure everything but it made me more equipped to handle my anxiety ocd and depression. TMS also has zero side affects.

Perhaps consider having a physician write a prescription for a DNA mouth swab test that can help determine your interactions and compatibility with various medications.

Good for you . A great thing about DNA testing is it is once and done , since DNS doesn’t change . I had a similar test done about 10 years ago and the results were helpful to me .

I understand. For me personally I discovered approximately 90% of the medications I had an incompatibility with due to genetic issues . I am glad they tested antidepressants, sleep aids , pain meds and so on .
supposed to start ERP I think therapy with no medication currently is the way to go
I also really struggle on the SSRI’s. I finally ended up on a low dose of Lexapro but took months to get the side effects to subside. I’ve taken others and the side effects kind of stuck around. I did the genetic testing also and all SSRI’s came back as saying no issues so…Lexapro is supposed to be the best for side effects but I still had a ton and I’m on the lowest dose. They’re pretty mild now, though. Just still mostly the dry mouth. It makes it so I can function so it’s worth it for me
Has anyone taken Zoloft and had it not work or make things worse? I also suffer from anxiety and depression before getting diagnosed with OCD. I am currently on 50mg and feel terrible almost 30 days on it with no good change but it feels like it's making everything worse?! Going to switch I can't do it anymore and the nonstop sweating!
I'm so sorry. I don't know where else to go. My intrusive thoughts happened in March for first time. I worked hard to fight them through diet and excercise since I had to wait for my insurance to kick in during April. It got better with alot of work but then I went to friend house and had an anxiety attack. Since then I have breathing ocd. I've tried lexapro, zoloft, exxefor, seroquell, now luvox all with horrible side effects and no luck. I don't want to try anymore meds. This is the first time I try pharmacological agents. I don't know where to turn anymore. Im 48. This is not where I saw my life going. There has to be an answer for me. My God.
Okay, so I’ve always been reluctant to try meds, but I finally did and tried 50mg of fluvoxamine for 4 days. It made me 100x worse in a matter of 2 days. I was told to give it a month but I couldn’t. I literally was paralyzed with fear and I didn’t sleep those 4 days I took them. I also got this weird side effect where I see like a floater in the corner of my eye and it doesn’t go away. It started right after I stopped taking fluvoxamine cold turkey. Now, I was prescribed 25mg of Zoloft. I’m terrified to take it. But I feel like I need to start taking meds because my ocd is becoming so unbearable and I need some peace. Tell me your experiences. Did you feel like SSRIs really were a life saver? This might sound like I’m asking for reassurance, but I genuinely want to read some peoples experiences before I give it another go.
