Yes, the feeling of "yes" to such a question can indeed be a manifestation of OCD, particularly if you're experiencing intrusive harm thoughts. OCD can produce very distressing and unrealistic thoughts or feelings that don't align with your true character or intentions.

@kodyisland - Hey! Thanks for you question. Yes, OCD can manifest in a way that makes individuals feel like they might act on their intrusive thoughts, even though there is no genuine desire or intention to do so. This experience is common in OCD and is known as "obsessive fear." The intense anxiety and doubt caused by OCD can lead to a heightened state of self-monitoring, where individuals become overly concerned that they might somehow lose control and act against their values or intentions. It's important to remember that these feelings are symptoms of OCD and not reflective of one's true character or likelihood of action.

@Justin Trout Hi Justin. Can I ask wether it’s common this feeling of ‘yes’ or feeling ‘it’s true’ manifest with SOOCD too?

This ‘feeling like yes’ smashes me so hard with SOOCD. I’m like “could I kiss a guy?” Or “am I actually gay?” Or “do you want to be gay?” And my mind often is convinced or it feels like a yes. This despite never questioning my sexuality until this came in at 26, and loving thoughts about women. Horrible disorder. I hate it. I hate it so so much.

That’s kinda my question. All my thoughts feel so realistic and so now I doubt if they are ocd and if I just can’t make my mind up about something and I’m using ocd as an excuse or something idc I feel like this post is word vomit.

There are times my harm ocd has me convinced that my feelings of self harm or suicide and harm are real and that any moment I could commit the act on myself or my family. Is there anyone who can chime in on this. I feel like all the time I want to leave run away or avoid my family because of these thoughts. Like I shouldn’t be around my children and I don’t trust myself.

I’ve asked this before and got no response but can ocd try to make you feel a certain way that you don’t actually feel? Such as telling you you’re jealous or upset in a situation when you don’t even care or feel that way at all. Can ocd cause you to feel the emotion along with the intrusive thought even though it’s not your true feelings?
