Would love to hear from someone what managing OCD was like before taking medication vs after! I'm considering restarting a medication but dragging my feet. I think being reminded of their usefully would help! 😊
Let me just say medicine definitely help me. Even before I knew what was going on I was definitely on edge. Let me say about three months later. My medicine has greatly help me and so has the therapy of course. Let’s just say I used to suck at taking medication every day but now it’s one of my priorities. I hope this helps good luck 🙂

@Rissa94 How long did it take you to feel some relief? I just started taking anxiety medicine on Saturday and am so antsy. I just want it to work now but I haven’t felt any different
@Anonymous I can say from experience usually 3-4 weeks to first start usually noticing improvements! Usually up to 6-8 weeks to get the full effect
@Anonymous - it took me about 3/4 weeks and over time i talked the doctor to up the mg. its been about 7 weeks i would since Ive started taking my prozac and it has helped tremendously. I will my therapy also helps but medication is a big plus
I’ll say this, medication and therapy helped me reduce the worst by 50%. It took a solid 3 months to get there. And I am thankful for it. I wish it was more like 75%, but I’m looking at dosage and other options too. It might not be for everyone, but it certainly helped me.
That's awesome you've found it reduces your symptoms by half. I hope you can get closer to 75% too!!
I have been taking Prozac 40mg daily it seems to be helping my ocd . I read that 60-80 mg has seemed to help people more with ocd Wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks
Hi. I’m writing this post because I don’t know if I should be medicated again. Lexapro worked well for me, but I gained like 30 pounds. I quit because of that and honestly I thought I was able to manage my OCD well better. I was wrong, it got worse again. I wish I can do this without medication…that’s why I expose myself everyday, doesn’t matter how drained and exhausted I get. Are you guys medicated or trying to go without medicine. How is it going for you guys? Many hugs for all of you. We got this.
Hi all, I’m curious is anyone taking medicine for their OCD and if so which one and is it helping? I’ve been on Prozac for almost 7 weeks and I just don’t think it’s doing much. I’m only on 30mg so perhaps I need to get to 40.
