People keep telling me we wont die because of climate change. But my brain tell me that it's not true ? And I cant stop worrying. Im currently trying to combat that, trying to remember that just because my brain says it it's not true but it's so hard. Any advice?

Hey there, I'm so sorry you're getting intrusive thoughts like these. Having OCD is so confusing and hard. But it's also SO important to remember that while OCD can be scary WE ARE SO MUCH STRONGER! And we can do hard things. When getting an intrusive thought like this I would try to respond to the thought differently by saying "maybe I will, maybe I won't. but it's hard to know for sure so I'm just going to accept that uncertainty and keep living my life anyway." OCD doesn't deserve to control your life. Always remember that everyone on this app is sending love and support your way.

I have a similar worry where America (I live there) is gonna have a draft for the Ukraine war/WW3 is gonna start and I or someone I know will be in the draft etc. The truth is idk that could technically happen but my worrying about it is motivated by OCD not by facts My heart goes out to you 💔 Something is difficult for me and I’m sorta a hypocrite to give out advice I should take myself lol But “life is made up of moments” Not everyone will have a happy ending But we can take comfort in this happy middle Live carefree not carelessly like be realistic But remember it is realistic/fact that rumination is killing your joy. what helps you guys cope with thinking you’re sick and you’re going to die any second? i can’t help but look something up on my phone when i feel something slightly unusual. once i see some condition or whatever, i stick with it until i experience something new, and the cycle goes on. i’ve always felt that if there was something wrong with me i wouldn’t want to know and would rather die. i’m not suicidal but i don’t want to live in a world where im sick or feel doom because there’s nothing to do about it. i’ve gone to the doctor plenty of times and i recently got a lot of blood tests. they said nothing was wrong with me other than the fact i have depression and anxiety. so every time i feel worried about something, i just refer back to that and tell myself im healthy, which i am. at the moment, i keep getting worried im going to have a stroke. although i am a teenager, it’s still possible. just now i felt left sided pain in my jaw that went to the rest of my face so i started to get anxious which made everything seem more intense. then i reminded myself that i have impacted wisdom teeth that are growing in which could cause that type of pain. last night my leg cramped up and it felt painful to move. it felt exactly like when your leg falls asleep and you get that paralyzed feeling (if that makes sense). then i figured that happened because i just had a week of band camp and my leg muscles were pretty sore, especially that leg. my family doesn’t have any history of health issues which doesn’t mean that im invincible but it also reduces the risk. all of this really picked up after band camp from last year (2023) im guessing its my body having enough of it being overworked.
Any tips on whenever you’re getting that intrusive thought, what can I tell myself without reassuring myself
Something came up on my fyp on tiktok. The possibility of asteroid Apophis hitting the earth in 2029 and 2036. NASA assured it wouldn’t hit instead coming between the moon and earth. The comments are all fear mongering. They say you can’t trust NASA and they’d have a reason to lie to the common folk. If it was about anything else i’d wave it away because I don’t give sceptics the time of day but this is bothering me severely. I’ve been staring at a wall for the past hour absolutely terrified and trying my best not to reassure myself. This is horrible for me, because images of my own death and that of the world keep relentlessly attacking my psyche. I wish i could just wave this off but it’s sticking to me terribly.
