Sitting here at the tire shop watching people who seem so normal. Just going about there day. Can they tell I have OCD. If they knew what would they say. I feel like everyone can tell how weird I am. I have so much shame and guilt. Anyone else feel this way?
Figure this, pretty much anywhere you can think of including the tire shop everyone has something going on with their health and personal issues. Many people are dealing with things much worse than OCD . I feel the average human is wrapped up in their own personal dramas and don’t notice too much about the people around them including OCD .
I do, and sometimes even the thought process causes me to ruminate. I don’t think they can tell, but sometimes I think I get caught up and how much I try to look acting normal that I feel out of place. I’ve never had any one say anything outright, but I have been called quirky.
That also happens to me when I'm at a Walmart and I look at people and I'm like they all look normal to me.
I don’t think people CARE to notice or think you have OCD, but I definitely envy people who don’t have OCD. So I people watch too and I’m like, “why can’t I be “notmal” again?” No offense to all of us who have ocd, I hope you know what I mean by being “normal”. You know ocd is debilitating…
Am I the only person who feels as tho OCD is like one of the topics you don’t speak of like when your around people who genuinely do not understand or suffer with OCD you can’t mention it.I also suffer with anxiety and although when people are around me enough they can notice behaviour I feel as tho I’d be highly judged for it.Like I shouldn’t feel the way I do because it makes me seem insane to people who can not understand it.No one around me ever truly understands its.
Does anyone else feel like they’re living a double life with OCD? As if they have a very dark secret? I am so tired of feeling unwell around people and trying to calm myself down when I am in obviously calm situations. My train ride was so nerve wrecking today. While everyone was just chill and quiet. All I had were random and gross intrusive thoughts, and there I was standing like another train passenger. Ugh!
One thing that I’ve noticed about my OCD is that it makes me feel very regretful and embarrassed at the end of every day. I reflect on every interaction and every conversation and any thought that I’ve had throughout the day. As a result, I feel more and more ashamed of the way that I act, even though it is probably normal for some of my age to act and see the things that I say. Earlier today I flirted with a guy and then as soon as it ended I had so much religious and moral guilt about it. Does anyone have any advice on how to not feel so ashamed after doing the typical activities that people in their 20s do? I feel like these thoughts are making me want to isolate from everyone else so that I’m not put in the position to do and say these things. I feel comfortable with myself when I don’t talk to anybody but I’m noticing that that can’t be normal . I don’t want to lose friendships and potential relationships out of fear that I’m going to say something wrong. I don’t know what to do.
