Fear of peeing myself

My nurse at the hospitalization program told me she used to have something very similar to this, only she was afraid of farting/ pooping. Hers got all better I can’t remember how. The reason she told me this is because I also had a similar fear I was afraid of vomiting in class and because if that I was always nauseated and always felt like it would happen I would sit in the nurse all day and it never happened! I feel like what my therapist would tell you to do for this is say “yep maybe it will happen 👍” that takes the power away from the ocd. Maybe try and look at it in the bright side? I’m a very comical person so I would probably laugh about it so hard with my friends and that would make it not embarrassing. Also (I’m not sure if you should do this because it’s kinda giving into your ocd) but maybe you could carry about a sweatshirt? That way in case you peed (WHICH YOU WONT) you could tie it around your waist (this would just be for peace of mind I promise you won’t pee) but the best advise is please try the “well maybe I will maybe I won’t” that’s what has helped me with so maybe different ocd things

I used to have this exact fear, it went on for years- this is before I knew I had ocd. It was debilitating, I used to struggle to go anywhere as I needed to be near a toilet at all times. If we went out I needed to know where the toilets were all the time. It was awful when it came to things like exams etc when I would have to excuse myself to go to the bathroom. It started to settle down once I got to university and I was forced to do exposures (not that I realized that’s what I was doing at the time). From time to time I do find myself anxious about it again but exposure usually knocks it on the head pretty quickly..
