I had a false memory real event ocd - situation that happened before that causes me great anxiety and stress. I had already talked with the community on this and now the memory came back and the guilt and doubt and anxiety came right back again

Im doubting my past actions and if i didnt anything wrong or illegal and does that make me an offender or criminal. Etc etc. Just spiraling
@Anonynmous19 Hi there bro! I have been through this so many times in my life, it’s devastating to hear you are suffering with it too! Coming from someone who has finally learned to keep OCD at bay after 10 long dreadful years of suffering and having no clue what to do; my best advice to you is just to let the uncertainty regarding this event be there! Whenever the doubt pops into your head, DO NOT try to push the thought away! DO NOT constantly reassess the event and question what happened! DO NOT answer any questions that your mind will try to get you to answer! Honestly, just let it be there! You DO NOT need to know! OCD is the doubting disorder for a reason, it makes us doubt anything! I used to have the worst False Memory OCD ideas pop into my brain, “what if I assaulted that man on my way back from college”, “what if I touched someone inappropriately on the train”, “did I call my best friends mum a slag last night?” Honestly, OCD comes up with anything and everything to try to get you to engage with it. It will make you doubt everything bro and it will make you seek 100% certainty. Remember, achieving 100% certainty is impossible!! Nothing in life is risk-free. We can either : 1. Let it eat us up and we can constantly worry and question and reassess everything that happened (which just makes the OCD stronger) or 2. You can decide to take control and just let the uncertainty be there, whenever the doubt arises, just try a non-engagement response like “maybe it did, maybe it didn’t, I am okay not knowing”. @AaronB1111 Hey friend. Its been over a year since the event and I have significantly improved dealing with my ocd and am in a much better place. Two days ago though i remembered this incident and ive been feeling excessive guilt and having worriful thoughts that im an offender and doubts if i did anything wrong such as not stop p*rn when others entered the locker room. Any advice for dealing with this. I noticed ocd tends to creep back in months or years later with guilt and doubt regarding past events. Please help
@AaronB1111 Trigger tmi warning- Thank you bro for your response. It was an event in my past. I was in a dark time in my life and relationship. I was young full of testosterone and libido but my partner and I were having issues and so there was a lack of romance and intimacy in the relationship. If I was intimate at home id be denied and when i needed to relieve myself if they saw me id get yelled at so the only time and place i could was alone in the gym shower stall. I got addicted to porn. Usually the gyms were empty and it was an 18+ gym. But this one instant a man brought his son into the next stall over. I recall being angry because kids werent allowed in the Adult locker room and of all the private stalls open they went right across of mine. I recall being angry and stopping the porn video. My shower curtain was closed and private. No audio sound either. I recall waiting till they left to finish the porn video. But now my ocd has doubts like (what if i didnt pause the video) what if my curtain wasnt fully closed? Does this make me an offender? Even though i have no history of offenses and get anxiety and angry when people were near i know i was being private and relieving myself in the only place i felt i could alone. But the worries and ocd and anxiety is overwhelming.

im going to be vague here, but basically i did something in the past that i regret and it became a huge point of my OCD but i have talked to my therapist and i have mostly moved past it. i watched a video by an OCD youtuber that really put it into perspective. anyway, i have been with minimal worry for a few days, but now im having worries related to i think false memory? basically it’s like “oh but what if i said/ did this and just forgot that means i harmed this person im a bad person”. to me it sounds like textbook OCD but im just wondering if anyone else has experienced false memory / real event at the same time. i have a really horrible memory which is making it even more stressful. any responses are appreciated!
Hey everyone, I’m still struggling a bit with false memory ocd. Mine revolves around my relationship. There are some things I have remembered that occurred early on in the relationship, whether someone texted me on Snapchat or TikTok etc. and it was old friends of mine from a friend group. In the friend group it was me and about couple guys and girls. I remember there being an instance where one of the guys had messaged me on Snapchat after I had posted something about a tv show or I had posted a picture of me and my mom and they reached out to me saying something and I honestly can’t remember at all what they had said to me but I’m pretty sure i remember I responded with “Lol” or “Thank you” , and I think the reason I’m really struggling right now is that I can’t remember hardly anything about the text at all. And of course, my ocd is trying to convince me that it was either a flirty chat, or something else. I also want to mention that I unadded a lot of people off my snap, mostly guys on TikTok etc after dating my boyfriend because I felt like that was respectful. And even after doing that, my OCD was trying to convince me that I un added them because I was hiding something or I was on adding them because I didn’t want my boyfriend to see that they were on my Snapchat, which was not the case at all. I think I’m just really struggling because I think about past events that have happened in my mind is trying to convince me that something else happened, rather than allowing me to remember what actually went on. I just wanted to come on here and ask if anyone else struggles with something like this because it’s been really bothering me the past couple days and I know I would never do anything to hurt my boyfriend because I love him so much it’s just I freak out constantly, and it bothers me a lot.
any advice for when you get false memories that feel really real? especially something that had JUST happened, it’s like ur brain distorts it. i feel like i do something wrong 24/7 then i get over it and ocd latched onto something new
