Here is an interesting link: https://www.verywellmind.com/ocd-dbt-skills-2510652. Also, where have you been looking for therapists? Here are my go to links if you haven't searched there yet. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists This one you can filter for OCD and other specializations, and it will yield more results. https://iocdf.org/ocd-finding-help/find-help/ This one has very specialized OCD specialists and is where I found my current (she is $150 per session).

Also, if neither of these work, there is one more option I can think of. It's called BetterHelp and it's an app. The cost is $40-$70 a week (billed monthly). I haven't personally used it, but if you choose this route, I recommend contacting the company and asking for the therapists that specialize in OCD/ERP. And, one last option (sorry for all the options, but hey, a lot of options is better than a few!) is called LiveHealthOnline, it is also an app, and it has a psychology section (I have and still use the psychiatry option, which is also available). The prices are slightly more, but it's just another option. Again, if you decide to choose either of these online/mobile options, I recommend contacting the company for a list of their OCD/ERP specialists. Good luck!?

DBT can be very helpful. I’d give it a shot! It certainly won’t make anything worse, so don’t worry about that.

I had a therapy assessment today (not on here) and she said she is gonna put me forward for CBT and said I had generalised anxiety because I worry about different things, rather than it being OCD where you worry about one thing, but I do compulsions so I’m confused. Will CBT help even if I do have OCD ? my main worry is harm and I told her other things like fear or fainting or switches being off but she said I’ve got anxiety and I definitely feel like I’ve got ocd

hey guys, i've been seeing a general therapist because i didn't know if i had ocd or not, but then she did end up diagnosing me with ocd so now i know i do (i also went through nocd and they diagnosed me too but stopped because its too expensive) the thing is, my current therapist is a general therapist and is NOT specialized in ocd care and hasn't given ERP before, she's learning for me and we've done two exporsure sessions but i can't stop from thinking about how she's not the upmost qualified for this, she's helping though and i've gotten better since i've started seeing her, idk if it's just my ocd being picky or what, anyone go through something similar and have any advice?

Hello, I'm a student from China. I've been struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) for several months, and I want to talk about my situation. I wonder if any of you have dogs—my problem is related to dogs. At first, I was worried about whether a dog had licked me and if I would get rabies and die. Then it generalized to walking my dog outside: I’d fear that the dog might lick someone else and cause their death. Now, I have obsessive thoughts about whether I accidentally let a dog lick someone in the past, and what I’d do if that person died. These thoughts pop up from time to time. Because of this, I’m afraid to touch dogs, and I even dare not take my dog out for walks. I want to receive CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) treatment, but there are no professional doctors who provide psychological treatment in my area—almost all available options are medication-based. What should I do?
