Thank you all for your helpful responses. It’s great to know I’m not alone and that this is indeed just ocd.

Sounds like you’ve experienced pure OCD and that’s where the sexual thoughts come in and possibly as well as ROCD which could be relationship OCD. I would look into that more and maybe make a decision even though you mentioned the scrupulosity

Congratulations on your marriage!!Unfortunately the only solution is to avoid doing the the HARD thing- not giving into the compulsion. It might be worth it for you two to go to counseling together if you are using her a lot for reassurance so that you can set treatment goals and boundaries for when she can reassure and when she will avoid reassuring

I had to double check your username to make sure it wasn’t me who wrote this. Wow, I deal with very similar things. I know how absolutely horrible it is. How are you doing nowadays? I think it’s important that you wife build an understanding of OCD and that you stop ‘confessing’. I know it’s really hard to tell if this or that time is an exception, but really the damage that ‘confessing’ unnecessarily causes. At some point you have to make your best guess on what to do; you can’t try to attain absolute certainty or you will drive yourself and your wife crazy I think. Anyways, I hope you’re doing well, and I’d like to chat more as we go through such a similar thing.
