I’ve never been religious, and I don’t plan to be. I’m happy with what I believe in, but sometimes I think about what would happen if I’m wrong. What if I will suffer for my sins? What if I find out god is real before it’s too late to save my soul? I’ve spent so long being suicidal but death absolutely terrifies me in a way nothing else could.
Hi , hope all is well with you and reminding you that Jesus loves you! Even if you currently don’t believe in God, that doesn’t mean it’s over. The reason you are feeling this way is because God wants to have a relationship with you. Jesus wants you to believe in Him and that He died for your sins. God loves you very much and wants the very best for you! If are willing to, try having a relationship with Jesus/God. Pray to Him about everything you are going through. You don’t have to pray in such a perfect way but more of how you speak to others. God wants you to come to Him how you are. Speak to Him how you would to family and friends. God already knows what you are going through and feeling. God loves you and just wants to have a relationship with you. God is waiting on you. Please try to have a relationship with Jesus/God. I promise you won’t regret it. Life is so much better with Jesus/God. I don’t want to force this on you. Take your time but please try to have a relationship with Him. God loves you more than anything! Have a blessed day!!
So, it’s a real question with a real answer. All you have to do is give it a chance, believe in God & accept him as your savior, & see what happens?! If you don’t, you’ll never know. Having a close relationship with God has changed my life for the better & there is no %100 proof of his existence but there is enough evidence to show that he lived on this earth & died for our sins so we dont have to pay the price of death. We are saved by grace through faith on what he did on the cross, it’s a free gift & all you have to do is accept it & let him transform your life little by little, day by day. Take a chance & see if anything happens!! 😊

@Lavender Fields!! Yeah I know you have good intentions in this reply but it was not appropriate based on the question they were asking. Their obsessive thought deals the fear that there may be a god that will punish them, and this response entertains that idea and could prompt rumination or other compulsive interactions with that thought
I personally think this isn’t OCD and think its your conscience. I’ve always been told God gives every single person a chance to seek the truth no matter there upbringing or current region. it’s then there choice to either ignore it or to seek the truth. Have a look into the Catholic faith and just see how you feel or speak to someone (doesn’t have be face to face)❤️ I’m not saying this to try scare you. I had strayed away from my faith for over 15 years!!!!!! It was only last year I had a complete change of heart and I don’t regret a thing my only regret is that I ever strayed away in the first place and it took so long to come back! Having faith brings a sense of peace you’ll never understand until you have it❤️
@Liv24 @Liv24 i’m really uncomfortable with these comments as i’ve considered religion before. i don’t want to be told what is and isn’t my ocd. At the end of the day, i don’t have thoughts about positive aspects. i only experience intrusive thoughts regarding the possible damnation i could suffer despite the fact this is not what i believe in. please do not tell me that these extreme fears are my conscience because i really do believe that if god wants to guide me, he would not want me to become religious out of fear of what happens if i do not find him.

I always tell people who think like this. What if I’m wrong? I’ve lost nothing. But if I’m right??? I hope you don’t take this the wrong way I know it’s probably not the answer you wanted but maybe it’s the one you needed❤️

Does anyone else ever have obsessions about death and the afterlife? This is something I’ve struggled with on and off for years but I can’t seem to make these thoughts go away because my ocd is telling me this is a real fear and there’s no counter thought to act as the compulsion for it because it’s the unknown and that really freaks me out
death cw how do you deal with knowing you’re going to have to die someday? this is eating away at me so bad. i can’t go a single night without thinking that i’ll die eventually, or that i’ll die in my sleep. it makes me sick to my stomach. it doesn’t help that i don’t know what i believe religiously either. i think i’m agnostic. if you’re gonna comment and try to tell me i shouldn’t be agnostic or anything, please don’t. it’s going to freak me out.
I'm literally just hanging out with my sister and having a good time and I realized "I'm not gonna be young like this forever" and that I'm not immune to death or aging. I'm living just to slowly watch my body die. I'm already going to be 15 this year. I've already passed so much time and I feel like it's going to be so quick and I'll be dead. What if I like living more? What if there's nothing after death? What if it's just black and everything is for nothing. It kinda makes me wish I wasn't born so i wouldn't have to deal with this. it's so stressful. Every moment that passes I'm just getting closer to something I can't control. It's so scary. I can't do this. I physically cannot accept one day I'm going to be gone absolutely forever. I'll have to leave everything. Two minutes ago I wasn't as close to death as I am now. I'm cant handle this.
