I don’t know about you, but the evening is my time to shine! During spikes, life can be a bit like the movie Groundhog’s Day. Mornings 😱 , afternoons are 😧 , and evenings are 🧘. We are stronger together!
I usually find evenings to be more triggering, but it’s because I have more time to slow down and that’s when it gets a little wonky up there. Ive been making some good progress I feel though, really working on not giving any sort of significance to the thoughts that occur💭 One day at a time 💪
@Dreamweaver I guess everyone is truly different. My mornings can vary, but during a spike/relapse/setback/one step backwards (haha) it is very hard and I’ve got to force myself to face the scary world where my fear awaits…and waits…and waits. Lean into it! Full steam ahead. Bring it! I’m glad that you’re making progress though. Every inch of progress is what we need to do, it’ll compound over time. Thanks for sharing!
Morning and evening is the worst for me especially Sunday nights. Right now I'm experiencing a wave of thoughts. Just trying to recognize them and let them go. My favorite cooking show is about to be on and I want to enjoy it. TV is a great distraction for me
@GurlyGurl That’s awesome. I find that I’m finally able to get into shows again. I’m 12 months in. If nothing else, this 💩 has given me perspective. I do appreciate the small pleasures a heck of a lot more- mindfulness and being present - hiking with my kids, taking the dog for a walk, watching a show. Enjoy your show!
Everyday a little better, one day at a time, ocd is really tricky and can make You feel really Bad but we are not alone
@Hopeful29 🙏 Amen to that! One day at a time for sure. It is sneaky and tricky. All the ways it tries to get me to give in to a compulsion. Ha! We gotta tell our OCD:🖕
My hubby and I are watching horror movies and eating Indian food 😊

Is there a reason why anxiety is better at night for some people. I relax in the evenings but I'm in pain in the days. Panic attacks are debilitating
Keen to hear how you all get through flare ups? I’ve been doing well lately but the last couple of days have been really tough. I don’t know why, it’s probably a combo of coming back from a trip and not getting back into my routine and maybe also my PMS symptoms. Regardless of why I’ve had a flare up I try to remind myself that these happen and it’s ok. Progress isn’t linear.
Every single time I am dealing with a flare up the mornings are the worst. By the evening I am ok and think I conquered my OCD. Then here we go again all over again. WTH! I find it hard especially having Harm OCD because I am the first one to get up and my Husband and Daughter are sleeping at their most vulnerable state. I feel Frozen, I pant, my heart races and my stomach is doing roller coasters. Anyone in the same boat? any tips and what worked for you?
