I hope I am wrong, but it seems like there are very few resources for sensorimotor OCD. I see Michael Greenberg and OCD recovery but not much else except maybe a single post or video. Is this an uncommon issue? Or are there resources that I haven’t found yet?

@Anonymous243 Maybe my mistake is looking for “sensorimotor” instead of “somatic?” I have watched so many YouTube channels and gone through tons of IG accounts. I can probably count the number of posts about breathing OCD on my fingers. It seems to either be rare or not talked about.
@mav6 Yeah, I think that “sensorimotor” and “somatic” are interchangeable names for it. It definitely seems to be rare! I almost never see people talk about it but it’s very real and a big struggle. I hope you can find some resources for it. ❤️
@Anonymous243 Oddly enough, I came across a ton of stuff on somatic symptom disorder that seems to apply to somatic OCD better than other OCD material. It’s kind of hard to do exposure therapy to something like breathing, which you do all the time anyways. 
@mav6 Interesting! I’ll have to look into that. My breathing obsessions are hard for me too.

@Anonymous243 It’s about a condition called tension myositis syndrome. It’s also called Mind body syndrome. I came across him on “the steady coach” podcast. It makes so much sense to me that physical symptoms are related to stress. I think my hyper awareness of body sensations was triggered due to stress.
@mav6 Ohhh! I almost got diagnosed with this one time. I still have no diagnosis, but have been living with chronic pain for the last 8 years. Maybe I should look back into this since I haven’t really gotten anywhere with my pain. Thank you for the info. 🙏
@Anonymous243 It’s really interesting to me. I have had chronic pain for years, I am dealing with sensorimotor OCD, and just recently I was diagnosed with a neurological condition. I started reading about TMS, and now I’m thinking they’re all related.
@mav6 Ohhh I see, that would make sense. I hope that you find some more answers that help you get relief from your pain.
@mav6 Hi! I 100% believe in TMS! I ended up disabling my chronic pain symptoms by learning about this!
But I agree, it feels as if its uncommon.
This has been stressing me out, i don't find many specific scientific articles on groin response or similar topics, this makes me wonder if we all actually have a more serious problem? None of the therapists i've been to seem to think about OCD when talking to me and i'm not even diagnosed with anything, i'm always wondering if this means that i'm bad and i'm just hiding behind a false thing. Maybe my therapists would not comprehend that fully and i 100% understand them, apart from thoughts i have other things like groinal responses, that's one of the most uncomfortable things to say because i'm always afraid that by describing it, they'll suspect something way worse. It is worrying that i have not been able to find anything else for that topic on the internet apart from what this same app posts or the same old sources, i cannot find a big study very focused on it and that scares me
Hello, I have been interested in meditation, but it seems like an impossible thing for someone with intrusive thoughts. Does anyone have experience with meditation or helpful resources for how someone with OCD might start to meditate? Is meditation even helpful in someone who has OCD?
Hi guys, This is my first post on here, as I’ve been scared to be vulnerable in this way. I’ve had a lifelong journey of mental health, diagnosed with a myriad of things, and misdiagnosed with others. When I got diagnosed with OCD, things started to click and treatment has been going well. There’s still a disconnect, things I do that are different than others and aren’t compulsion or obsession related. The reason I’m posting is to ask if anyone has been diagnosed with OCD/Autism and how you navigated that comorbidity. Thank you to anyone who shares
