Does anyone struggle with thouhts that make them question if they’re actually~ a believer in God. Or question if they actually love God? Does anyone battle with these thoughts that make it hard sometimes to feel~ close to God? Even though you know He is REAL.
OCD generates doubt. It's also called the doubting disorder. OCD attacks what is important or precious to you to cause suffering and to undermine what you value. The very fact you're being fought with these doubts is actually proof that you DO believe God and you DO love Him. Refuse to prove to OCD that you DO believe and love Him. OCD will never believe you no matter what you do (compulsions) to convince it. Resist it. Resist it. And Resist it again. James 4:7 Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

OCD has a field day with all of religions . Largely due to it is based on faith specifically. So OCD can really dig into to this topic. 🙏✝️
Yes! Omg, yes! I had a horrible OCD attack this past October over my faith… it scared me so bad. Matter fact, that’s what made me realize my OCD was way worse than I realized. Got myself into therapy and all! But I know who I am… I’m a child of God Almighty and Jesus Christ… I stick by that and tell OCD where to go.
Yes, often times I think “wait, do I only ‘love’ God because I don’t want to go to hell?!?!” And then I get nervous and scared and I just want to give up. But then I realize that my goal is to help people’s faith and I don’t expect a blessing or praise from God when I do it. It’s because I want to save people and want to help people grow closer to him. But I still have these thoughts, but I have to remember that it’s just the devil doing his work in my head, making me think these thoughts but I know what’s true.
@Jesuslovesyou64838 I had this same thought! All kinds of accusations in my mind. I’m really struggling right now…it’s awful.
Anyone else have scrupulosity? Has anyone seen success? I have been struggling for over a year now and although it’s not as bad as before with certain thoughts, new thoughts keep coming in. They all tell me that I need to do more to earn God’s love. Drives me to the point that I question if I should even continue to pursue God.
Trigger warning possibly? Does anyone struggle with thoughts of doubting God? Or struggle with the fear of not believing or not believing enough? Sometimes I even feel like I started believing in God for the wrong reasons. I’m really struggling and always afraid. My faith is suffering and I feel bad. I’m scared I’m losing my faith. I know I want to believe in God, I just get scared I don’t. I don’t even know if I have OCD but I’ve been obsessing over these fears since February. Does anyone else deal with this? And do you have advice?
Does anyone with Scrupulosity deal with feeling like you might quench(disobey) the Spirit?
