I had a spider bite once that turned black. I didn’t know it was a spider bite, it was in the middle of my chest, and one day it was just a tiny dot then it got bigger until it was a little smaller than a dime. I told my wife I was dying. She said go to the doctor if you’re worried about it. Everyday for a couple months I would tell her I was dying and the cancer was going to kill me until she gave me reassurance and she suggested I go to the doctor. I finally went to the doctor, I told him I thought I had cancer, he had me remove my shirt and giggled a little, I gave him an angry look and said “how bad is it!” He giggled again and I flat out told me it was a spider bite and that the black dot would eventually just fall off… I still worried a little, by wife kept reassuring me until the dot finally just fell off one day… My point is that whether or not you go to the doctors, you will have to find acceptance, because even when the doctor reassured me, I still had a compulsion to look for even more reassurance… and it was just a bug bite. You probably should still go to the doctors regardless, they can teach you what to look for in case you’re prone to catch skin cancer, but the anxiety won’t go away until you accept your thoughts as only thoughts and not reality.

I had this issue for YEARS. I’m 33 and just went for the first time last year, you’d be shocked at how often they deal with OCD patients. I felt soooo much better after going though and they helped give me specific guidelines of what to look for, and what I see that they consider “overreacting” so it really helped calm my brain. (to a degree lol🤪)

I could’ve written this post myself 😭. I am convinced some of my moles are cancer. I’ve convinced myself they’re growing in size. I limit my time in the sun, wear sunscreen, and am careful. I have not been to a dermatologist either. I just want you to know you are not alone

Omg that is me to a tee! I always believe I have some form of cancer. My mother died of breast cancer. I always get mammograms every year. I also think I will any other type of cancer. My grand dad had cancer in his lungs and my sister had kidney failure so I always think I’m dying of some disease. Also my doc said I had schrogens disease and I thought omg I’m dead but it turned out not to be true. I worried myself into the grave unnecessarily as I always do and go on the internet for hours verifying all my symptoms and prognosis. It’s like I have no way out and think I’ve for sure got a disease and it’s only a matter of time before I die or get very sick. My anxiety goes through the roof and I can’t function at times or focus of anything other than the disease or cancer I think I’m going to get. It’s terrible and takes away my day to day life.

I just wanted to update everyone that I made a dermatology appointment. I’m terrified but proud of myself for taking that step

Update. I went and they came back benign ! Happy to have faced my fear
