Itās like living with a domestic abuser in your head, constantly questioning whether you did one thing or another, and regardless of what course of action you choose, youāre damned if you do, damned if you donāt, will berate you if you canāt remember, and will be upset if you socialize and arenāt isolated. Ease your breath, untie my hands Release my neck, if you can You don't have to be like that Don't be afraid, There's nothing strange It's not a trap But there's cars coming closer And I think they're trying to run me over Poisoning my food And putting drugs inside my water There's ghosts in my house And I can taste blood in my mouth Don't be afraid, I'm not insane Just irrational, but isn't that the same? (lyrics to "Poison" by Cavetown, which is a relatable song about intrusive thoughts and anxiety and the like)

Brain traffic, and you can only control the one thought you drive. You'll always on a journey, just make sure you're in the thought that's heading in the direction you want. The others are our of your control so don't get mad at them. Let them beep, let them swear, let them crash, let them be, and let them go.

@Nikki232 I used to feel the exact same way, and sometimes I still do. But the thoughts quiet down eventually, trust me. Last year, I had severe OCD and could hardly do anything without feeling extreme anxiety about contamination, and I was ready to give up trying to help myself. Even though I do still struggle, OCD doesn't control my life anymore. You will be able to live the life you want if you just keep going, I promise. ā¤ļø

What do you do when you have a thought and youāre not sure if itās intrusive or not? I just had one that was so strange and bad, and I canāt believe I just had it, but Iām almost afraid itās not intrusive and there really is something wrong with me. I hate this.

I struggle so bad with intrusive thoughts. They can be so bad that I'll cry because I KNOW that's not how I feel or want to do. (Too embarrassed to say what they're about) I'll constantly try to figure out why I have them, and constantly figure out what they mean, causing me to constantly circle around and around. I had to get on anxeity meds, which helped a little but the thoughts still happen. How do you help yourself with this? How do you know that you're just not some physcopath? š

When you get a stuck thought in your mind, as stupid or untrue as it may be, how do any of you block them out, or try to at least? Itās like my mind has another voice telling me making up the stupidest things?
