I used grande lash serum for a couple days and found out of its dangerous effects. I went to the eye doctor and have been following everything he has told me to do. But yet it’s been 3 months and I still have dryness. Super dry eyelids. My OCD is focusing on it so much and feeling like it won’t ever go away. Does anyone have any experience in this? Thank you :/
Not with the lash serum, but with a retinol lotion. More of a funny story than a panicky one for me. My eyes felt dry and like they were kind of burning for months and I was watching a scientist talk about skincare and she mentioned retinol should stay out of your eyes because it can permanently affect your tear ducts and oil glads to stop lubricating haha. I was like.... No way... I stopped using that lotion around my eyes. Took a few months, but my eyes feel normal again! Even if the feeling doesn't go away, we can be eye drop warriors, it's okay! My mom has dry eyes and went to the optometrist for it, they said nothing was wrong and she wouldn't go blind or anything, she just has dry eyes and that's it.
@CalicoTiramisu Omg I’m so glad yours got better! The lash serum has an ingredient that basically causes the same thing. I used it for a couple days and it’s been 3 months and I still have the symptoms. It’s gotten better but the dryness is still there. Were your eyelids like sandpaper? My eyelids are so dry and Lower lids and I usually wake up with dry eyes :/ How many months did it take to go away?? I’m hoping it can go back to normal Since I never had any issues in the past. & thank you so much for sharing your experience! :)
@Fuzzybears10_ This happened back in 2022 maybe? So it's all a little fuzzy for me. I stopped putting retinol in that area and started taking more eye breaks from my devices. I'm an artist/animator so I had my eyes glued to my pc 99% of the day. I do remember thinking it would be permanent so I just kind of accepted it and didn't feel panicked, but eventually it went away! My mom's eyes also seem to be doing better, hers were so rashy and red and incredibly dry. Her optometrist said to use eyedrops and it shouldn't be anything serious. (I wish she'd go for a second opinion, but some older folk are so stubborn.)

Thank you so much 🥹 Honestly my OCD is horrible I feel like my life is over Like it can’t get better They told me to do warm Compresses and lash hygiene but I feel like nothing is working It was getting better when I was on the medicated drops once I finished that it got worse so idk I’m hoping once I go back in 6 weeks if it’s not better to see what can be done. 😞😞😞
@Fuzzybears10_ Honestly, if you only used it a few times I think it'd be kind of crazy for it to cause lifelong damage. I'm not an eye doctor so I'm not sure though. The added ocd on top of the issue sucks :/ I hope things get better for you, I just checked and there's a whole dry eyes sub reddit that may have some advice for your condition. Try not to accidentally fuel your ocd with it though 😭 😭
@CalicoTiramisu I was looking at people who had an Eyelash serum induced issue and saw someone say that all the warm compresses and massages they've done have made it so they have really nice long eyelashes so at least there's that haha
@CalicoTiramisu Yes! That’s what I’m saying I legit used it for less than a week how is it possible that I’m still dealing with it’s effects 😩 I try not to read too much but I did see some stuff & just listen to my doctor but it’s so infuriating because I feel like it’s not getting better but who knows how long it should take and just paranoid that it won’t get better 😔
For many years I’ve had contamination OCD. I wear many layers of plastic gloves when awake. Take off a layer when needing to do things. Early last year it started getting worse when I began ERP. Much worse. Showering took 1 hour before, now 3-4h or longer. I always have to shower before bed because the bed is a clean safe place. But showering didnt feel clean enough anymore and took so long. I would get stuck repeating things over and over. The humidity was ruining my walls and ceiling. I’d stay awake up to 40 hours avoiding showering and sleeping. So one day I started wearing clothes covering all skin, plastic gloves, sleeves taped, hoodie on. That way I could easily just sleep still on my back on the couch. No more awake 40 hours or stuck in the shower up to 4h + bedtime rituals. But then slowly I found myself unable to do… anything. Stopped going outside, stopped talking to people, can’t even get up some days so I just lay on the couch. Fall last year was very stressful I think it broke something in my head. I don’t change clothes and I make sure the gloves last many days. My hands are suffering. The skin blisters and comes off. I think my nails are now separating from the nail beds, for real. I’ve also spent so many years holding pee when outside the home that now the pelvic muscles are weak and I’m becoming urge incontinent. Can’t do physical exams at the doctors. Can’t seek help. Can’t get out of the couch. OCD is ruining my physical health. ERP did not work. Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do if so?

Hey everyone, I've been struggling with severe obsession over my blinking for more than a month now (&24/7), fearing I will never stop thinking about it. It came out of nowhere while I was walking (can OCD come like this without a reason ?). I'm starting to take Fluoxetine. I'm scared it won't help with the "hyperawerness". Does someone have a similar experience and can help me ?
