Bro help please

OCD is so funny because it’s takes us so long to find help because no one who doesn’t have ocd doesn’t refer to it as a cleaning disorder and then we we figure out we have ocd and seek help there isn’t much we can do because it’s all so expensive I need help right now I’m struggling I need meds and therapy but I can’t afford it I don’t know what to do and I have a job but I don’t get payed because it’s a work live situation I’m only 20 any advice I need help

Try to get self help books on ERP from the library. If they don't have it call them and ask them to buy some, they will. Zip books!!

I think that a lot of the general information on ocd and treating ocd with erp can be found through YouTube videos or articles, there are some therapists specifically relating to ocd (ocdandanxiety channel). You can do erp on your own, so you don’t necessarily need a therapist. But it would definitely be good if there is someone you can discuss things with and to have as support, if you are able to at least tell someone/family that you are struggling. If you want to take meds, there’s a 99% chance you would be prescribed an SSRI (either Zoloft, Prozac, or Luvox) by a psychiatrist initially - if you have a primary care doctor, they would most likely prescribe one of these or you can just ask for one pretty much. If you can’t get to a doctor, then you could also try taking supplements

I just googled for supplements, and here was a really good comment from someone on how they managed (supplements can get expensive too, so maybe try this persons suggestions below first) : “Paleo Diet - cutting out all dairy / gluten / sugar / caffeine. LIFE CHANGER !!! (maybe it's something with the inflammation gluten and dairy does to your brain, it took me months to detox) ERP - Purposely having the thought, letting it in. Radical Acceptance - Accept, accept, accept it all. The sub-type (or whatever you're thinking / obsessing about) doesn't matter. Read Everyday Mindfulness for OCD, I've listened to the audiobook over 5 times. You can try downloading it on Hoopla for free using your library card, that's what I did. I started doing all of that last year and it changed my life after struggling with OCD my whole life. I'm 34. Goodluck!”

Nobody believes I have ocd

My symptoms are clear as day and they literally have disrupted every single thing in my life but I ask for help and they tell me to just change ,stop doing that,stop being weird,or they tell me it's in my head Im going crazy here and I don't know what to do.some one please if you have any advice id love to hear it Thank you.

Venting and need some advice

I really do want to go to therapy or psychiatrist to diagnosed my OCD and give me a treatment but it costs a lot. OCD ruins my life and consumes my mind I wish I can take a break from my own brain. Having OCD but undiagnosed feels like I’m crazy because people think I made that up but they don’t know how I’m struggling since I was a kid. So anyone have an advice for treat OCD especially checking OCD that doesn’t cost money? because I don’t work yet..🥲

Getting through life when therapy is unaffordable

Hi everyone, I'm in a bit of a difficult situation and I wanted to ask for some advice. I recently finished my studies and I am living from my savings while I look for a job. However this process has turned out to be a lot more difficult and tedious than I expected. I suspect I have OCD as I relate to a lot of the experiences described here, in particular those corresponding to pure OCD. I have continuous intrusive thoughts about how what I'm currently doing is not enough, I constantly need to reassured that what I'm doing is right, with some magical thinking and concerns about my relationship sprinkled in. These intrusive thoughts have made it very difficult to make any significant progress in looking for something. Added to this I'm not even sure I have OCD as I don't have the money to afford therapy right now (my mind keeps telling me that it's silly to write this message because there's no way I have OCD). I live in Switzerland so as far as I understand my insurance won't cover sessions with NOCD. In conclusion I'm a bit stuck, therapy would help with finding a job but I need a job to get therapy. If any of you have had any similar experience and have some piece of advice it would be very welcome.
