Hi ladies! Do any of you notice a spike in your OCD during the time of your period? Mine always seems so get pretty bad a couple of days before, and during the week of my cycle. Curious to see what others may experience during this time.

Yes, I am going through a divorce and the major reason we are splitting is because he blamed my OCD on why he no longer wanted to have children (6 months after completing an IVF cycle while I was under a lot of work and life stress) with me. I also have a bunch of now fertility problems because I am older. But anyways… guess who’s here? My period… and rumination about our past how I could have been a better wife. Did I love him enough? Yes I did. Did I show him enough? Maybe and maybe not… my therapy tells me to be okay with uncertainty and my OCD is like you sure you haven’t thought of everything there might be a way to have him stay. Cause you love him, which I do. But also on the flip side I don’t want to be with someone who won’t work things out. He is moving out this week and I am all over the place.
absolutely! I have another issue that causes me to have awful mood swings before my cycle, but for the week before, week of, and a few days after, my ocd symptoms seem to be at their worst.

Yes! I was pregnant from February to May and I had a missed miscarriage at 14 weeks. When my period came back, I noticed that my OCD was spiking right before. This cycle, the week leading up to my period I had an absolute meltdown. Now that my period is almost over, I've seemed to have leveled out.
@Cisforcaro So sorry for your loss I lost a baby last year missed misscariage at 12 weeks I noticed my ocd got really bad after the loss
It's not just women that have periods, men and non binary people (or other genders) can also get them.
@Anonymous No they cannot. This is actually an insult to biological women who are the ones who have to endure a period. They’re the ones who truly suffer. With all due respect, stay off this post.

Does anyone like get extra anxious about an intrusive thought because you think to yourself “nobody else has probably had this thought.” “I must be crazy.” Idk those thoughts always seem to make my anxiety worse. I also have a fear of losing touch of reality and believing in crazy thoughts, if that makes sense? TMI but I also notice that my OCD is worse when I’m on my period. Can anyone else relate?
Do any of y’all feel like your focus is gone because of OCD? I’m in school for law and currently working through a couple month long OCD episode after getting Covid and I find my focus is gone. Or my mind just feels so tired and forgetful. Is this common? It’s making anxious as I obviously over analyze everything I feel. And also a question for women do you find that closer to your cycle you get more anxious and triggered?

Like having an uptick in intrusive thoughts related to family members, being home, just surrounding that theme? Would appreciate input! It makes me feel so isolated. ..
