I honestly think that you should tell your parents. Honesty helps build trust in relationships. You’re parents are the ones who care for you most in this world. Wish you the best! ?

They don't want me too though, I've talked to them already and they ignore me, tell me I'm overexaggerating OCD and to just ”ignore it”

Do you have a friend who’s parents you are close to. Or an older friend you can trust?

Yeah maybe, that's a good idea

It may be necessary for you to have someone outside your family help arrange an appointment with a therapist for you. It won’t be easy to go behind your parents back to get help but it is possible. You could even reach out to a staff member at school to get help. Like a school counselor or a trusted teacher

Your school counselor? And what sort of things do they have to tell your parents? Everything you tell them?

Yeah basically, legally if she even didn't say anything they would have to still sign off it

How have you approached your parents with this issue? Do they shoot the idea down immediately? I’m wondering if maybe you can ask a trusted adult to try to explain the importance to you parents. Maybe help them understand your side of things and your needs.

They act like they want to help and ”ask” me to see someone but when I say yes nothing happens, this has been going on for 3 years since I tried to kill myself and still nothing has happened

So they have shown that they are open to you seeing a therapist but even though you’ve said yes, they haven’t taken the necessary steps to make it happen?

Yeah every time I bring it up they say that I refuse to go. It's gotten to the point where I recorded myself saying I wanted to go and still nothing happened, honestly they think I'm doing a lot better because I don't want to disappoint them. They don't want a messed up daughter.

I don’t know very much about your situation with your parents. But from my own personal experience, seeing a therapist is really helpful, especially when sharing at home doesn’t feel like an option. I didn’t know how to ask my parents to help me see a therapist and it took me having a full blown anxiety attack in front of them to get help. I broke down in front of them and was in my most vulnerable state when they realized how real and important this was. I’m not saying you have to break down in front of your parents to get help, but it might be what it’s gonna take. Sometimes it’s hard for people to see how much someone is suffering unless it’s in their face. I wouldn’t give up asking them to help you see a therapist. Ask them everyday, I’m not kidding. Ask them constantly, ask them while you’re in tears, ask them when the thoughts are at their worst. Don’t stop asking. It is hard to ask for help when your in your most vulnerable state but it might help them see how much you’re struggling. If you feel safe asking them, ask and don’t stop asking. If you have Instagram or WhatsApp I can try to help you get this done.

I'll keep asking, cause honestly I'm terrible at bringing it up. My mother makes it so uncomfortable but you're right. That would be really nice to talk on insta, if that's okay of course.

Message me and we’ll talk. I’ll try to help you ask your parents... I know how hard it can be and understand the discomfort of asking and not fitting the “perfect” child idea.

i think i really need someone to talk to, I’m starting to feel like more and more everyday like I’m insane, if someone would be willing to private message with me or something id really appreciate it. if not it’s fine if it’s reassurance seeking.

Is there a therapist or a specialist on here that I can briefly chat with? Or maybe an OCD conqueror who’s very familiar with the disorder? I need an experienced person to talk to me so bad. I just really wanna talk to somebody about what I’m going through so that I feel less alone, and so I can maybe get help managing my symptoms. Thank you in advance ♥️
