so i’m getting ready for school and i’m dressed and i tied my shoes and usually i wash my hands right after because the floor is one of my biggest triggers like it’s so dirty to me so yea but i pulled my sweater down after before washing my hands and now i feel like my sweater is dirty. i can’t change because i have no other clothes ready to wear and it’s time for me to leave. idk what to do 💔
Ur okay a little bit of germs are good for u.. ur not dirty .. regardless ur gonna be in school all day so how I would think about it is well I’m going to school I’m gonna get dirty anyway… when I get home I can just shower .. that may help but either way ur ok
Welcome to your first chance to do ERP ( exposure and response prevention). You have exposed yourself to something that causes you distress. I would keep the sweater on all day and just acknowledge that you feel dirty but its not important. Dont try to soothe yourself. Just embrace the discomfort and focus on school. The distress should go down as time passes. Facing your fears is how you overcome them. running from them makes them chase you faster.
my ocd is got worse again and school starts in 2 days which is gonna make things difficult for me. i am just so fucking frustrated and tired. i tried to resist the urge to go on this app bc i feel like it’s reassurance but i just have to rant. i have been fighting for so long and i feel like this is never going to end. i’ve been rly trying. earlier this month i thought i was getting better but it just went to shit again. i feel so guilty and disgusted w my ocd obsession like why did it have to be those type of intrusive thoughts. like why me. ocd is literally the worst and sometimes i just feel hopeless.
sometimes I find myself looking in the mirror and picturing me a scary images. I’ve never heard voices or anything like that but I was just cleaning and I had all my jeans laid out on the floor and someone convinced me that they were watching me like it sounds so crazy idk how to explain I’m just crying because I feel so insane and detached from reality
my therapist has me doing a OCD diagnosis test to see if i have it.. and i’m scared to check off some of this stuff.. i don’t want a van to be waiting outside for me from being vulnerable.. she isn’t an NOCD therapist or she isn’t all things OCD.. she’s a regular therapist with some experience.. i don’t wanna be in grippy socks omg
