Anyone else start to feel stomach pain/a churning in their stomach when their OCD starts worsening a bit? (TMI) sometimes it even causes the worst gas pain. I’m so sick of it. Not only am I aware of the thoughts but then I’ve also got physical symptoms to deal with too.
I feel this! I have terrible health ocd so I am constantly thinking I have different stomach conditions. I have to remind myself that ocd tricks our minds and our bodies too!! 🩷
I used to get the worst headaches still do but more subtle

I have chronic pain from my OCD and that is mostly in my chest and neck, but if I get really worked up my stomach really starts to hurt. Just know you are not alone!
I get this really awful pit feeling in my stomach like is churning which then results in low mood then back to thinking 😭😭 wish this would leave me alone. I've tried to accept that I could possibly be bad but it's like it's craving full 100% belief before it'll release me 😭
Anyone else like this? I have real event, pocd and relationship. They've all kinda morphed together 😭😭
@Anonymous Omg YES!! And then once one theme calms down a bit, another flares. It feels never ending. You are not alone
@JesusSaves424 I feel like it all started with real event then went into pocd once these lay off a bit I'm then smacked with the relationship one. But ultimately have the same goal to convince me I'm bad I literally feel like im drowning in it all. My head is fried from the constant rumination and scary thoughts and feelings. Even accepting that it could be part of me isn't enough to make me at ease.
@Anonymous - I’m realizing that my current subtype of OCD is relationship, and I’m familiar with the morphing together, it is really painful, but I’m so glad I found NOCD and I have good feelings about ERP!
Yes, it is very unpleasant. You are not alone there. I’m currently in that state, and I’m just doing little things that help somewhat (drink warm milk, don’t force myself to eat too much, talk to the people who care about me).
Deep breathing really helps. Just inhaling slowly through your mouth, letting your chest cavity really fill, then letting it out/exhaling SLOWLY. If your breath comes out fast, it’s shallow. I think it is very much worth it to work on your breathing when the OCD becomes intense.
Yes and very severely too over a long period of time. It's beyond agony isn't it?
One of my most persistent symptoms of OCD is being convinced that I have some kind of severe or terminal illness. I've had so many appointments (that have picked up a few things but nothing that's been a death sentence). Every ache, symptom, I'm absolutely convinced something is wrong. Then I'll get it checked out, and it's normal. Or I'll feel a sensation like earlier I felt a sharp pain in my stomach when I pressed the upper part of it, CONVINCED its stomach cancer. And then I burped and I'm perfectly fine. I get so intensely wrapped in worry, and then later on I see I completely made everything up. It's so exhausting.
Does anyone else make themselves feel physically sick when they’re anxious? It’s like I’m making myself sick with reoccurring thoughts of worry. If you do, how do you make yourself feel better in those moments..?
I’m genuinely curious. What are some of the not talked about physical symptoms from OCD? I get anxiety from my OCD and it causes a lot of things for me like stomach pain, loss of appetite, etc. I think one symptom a lot of people don’t seem to talk about too much is the fear of going to sleep? I sometimes get nocturnal panic attacks and wake up in a jolt. It gets more common when I’m stressed or my period is coming. Does anyone else struggle with nocturnal panic?
