Why do my eyes feel tired and dry after wearing scratched safety glasses?

So 🧍‍♀️ lately my eyes have been feeling tired like i just feel like shutting them and sleeping- and they get strained very easily 😭😭 this all started last Thursday when i was at robotics and i had to wear safety glasses but they were all scratched up and smudged and i wore them for 2 hours straight no breaks and i was focused so i didnt blink much- so after that my eyes constantly keep wanting to shut and they feel dry and overworked- but ofc- i had to google 💀 and now my ocd is convincing me that this means i have an underlying neurological disorder 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 PEODISKSJSJS IM SCARED I BOOKED AN EYE APPOINTMENT BUT IM TERRIFIED AND ANXIOUS

1. STAY OFF GOOGLE 2. you have identified the event where the symptoms started. Logic says you're eyes are tired. 3. You can "manifest" symptoms that you read online. I literally gave myself an anxious bladder for a month after reading it could be a possible side effect of the medication I was on ( it actually was SIMILAR but not IDENTICAL to the side effect I read) but the side effect pertained to bladder function and my anxious brain filled in the gaps. So IF you are worried about your eyes having a problem, you can actually create psychosomatic symptoms ( blurry vision, dry eyes, etc) that are 100% real and 100% caused by anxiety, not a neurological disorder. save your money, don't go to the doctor. GET OFF THE INTERNET it IS A BAD COMPULSION and let your eyes heal.

@TexasOCD41 well my mom booked the appointment bc i think ive already started feeling the blurry vision 💀💀💀💀 and yeah ive had health ocd in many situations so ik the system of forcing symptoms well 😭 but shcodjdkcjskdjdkdjdkd ill stay off google

@weregonnabeokay - Iv booked many appointments too and gone to them, I don't judge. But you can always have her cancel it. I have BAD health anxiety. my insurance company LOVES me but its just something you have to work on. It does improve when you face your fears.

@weregonnabeokay - perhpase change the appointment from the eye dr to the general dr and give some anti-anxiety meds a go? works for me.

Hii, remember this is an obsesion, you can resist it, resurance will only help for a moment. As someone who has some problems with her eyes, I will recommend you, if this feel of dry is common, trying to use artificial tears. You can do it, it is difficult I know (The last year I was terrified thinking I will lost my vision because I had a pupil bigger that the other)but little by little everything improves

So I think my ocd that is connected to my peripheral vision has gotten worse. I’m paranoid that I have some brain tumor or a form of psychosis. I’m just constantly hyper aware of my peripheral vision. Just a small stain or mark on the floor makes me nervous cause I can’t ignore it. I sometimes feel I see things that aren’t there and idk if it’s my mind playing tricks on me but now it’s getting hard to focus on things in front of me because my peripheral vision will distract me. Ughhhhh how do I diagnose this. I can’t stop thinking about my peripheral vision. When I manage to distract myself and start enjoying and focusing on something in front of me my brain will bring it back to how wack my peripheral vision seems. I’m scared and I hate this. I can only seem to focus when I move around but when I sit down that’s when this shit starts up again and I’m just terrified of what this means for my peripheral vision and my wellbeing.

Worried about eyes

Im scared and sad. Have had this obsession about something happening with my eyes for years, and this weekend I got sand in my eye with contact lenses in and could not get it out. Kept wearing lenses bc I thought maybe my eyes were just really dry and my family didnt take me seriously bc I always worry about my eyes. Went to doctor today and it was still there so they flushed my eye but I need to come back tomorrow and cannot wear these lenses anymore Now scared for the future and not sure whether all the sand got out bc my eyes still feel bad :(

eye focus

Please help I'm so scared. So I've been focusing on seeing pixels for 2-3 days now and today I woke up tired and I can't seem to make my eyes stay focused. I can unfocus them on command and I've been doing that the entire day. I can't seem to make them stay focused. Unless Imm distracted and focusing on something else. I'm so anxious that this is another symptom of something serious. Has anyone experienced this? I have extreme health ocd and I can't stop thinking about this
