New to this community. Pretty bummed they don’t take my insurance. I’m gonna have a free call session later today but after that, I don’t know where else I’m gonna find online therapy specific to my ocd. I guess if it’s affordable I can still pay. It depends. It just sucks because I was happy to find this community and to finally get some help but they don’t take my insurance. I just want help.
Same... I just terminated my services with NOCD billing because they kept overcharging me hundreds per session and now I'm depressed because I can't communicate with my therapist anymore. She was super helpful in my recovery process and it feels like I am relapsing again because I don't have the proper guidance nor treatment in managing my symptoms. All the other online therapy services I've called weren't as decent and don't even use the standard practices of ERP to treat it. I'm devastated. I genuinely don't understand why it is so frustrating for OCD sufferers to get help. Finding an affordable OCD specialist in the US is like finding a needle in a haystick at this point.
new here too, i’m sorry to hear that. they also don’t take my insurance, but many of the posts and comments i read on here are quite helpful actually. i hope they can help you too.
I switched jobs recently and my new insurance is not accepted either. But I will continue using NOCD once a month and try a different therapist that takes my insurance to have different perspective. Listen to Patrick McGrath on you tube and you’ll learn a lot of things about ocd.
You could get in touch with Manhatten CBT. I'm from Europe, so there wasn't a chance, my health insurance would cover the costs for ERP therapy. But I got in touch with Manhatten CBT and they have therapists at different rates. My therapist there had still been in training, but she had already experience in doing ERP and she was amazing. I think her hourly rate was about 80 USD, which is pretty cheap in comparison to a ERP therapist who has already completed their training.
Just typical isn't it. Finally find a private psychotherapist who I believe Could really help me in this battle to overcome my harm ocd, they even said they are very used to treating this particular type of ocd with success, and I just can't afford it £70 a session I told them I can't afford it they don't offer discounts but were willing to do it for £65, I still can't afford it. Feel so stuck. Suppose I'll just have to continue in my search
NOCD doesn’t accept Medicaid in NC.. I feel helpless. I have nothing, no job.. no money that can afford this therapy and I really made myself vulnerable to the sweetest woman just listening to me cry about my OCD and how it effects my life.. Just to be told that I’m not able to be helped. This is probably why my parents pretended I didn’t have mental issues, we just couldn’t afford it. ..I can’t afford anything. Even my life.
I was set up to have my first appointment. I realized it would have to be out of pocket. I can’t really afford this but my tax returns are inbound so that helps. I kept getting a prompt in the app to upload my insurance. DO NOT DO THIS IF YOU HAVE MEDICAID. Now my appointment has been cancelled and I am not eligible to schedule one. There are no providers near me that specialize in OCD. I just got done bawling my eyes out. The relief I felt to finally be heard and understood and then to have that ripped from me is completely devastating. I feel so hopeless!
