OCD Urges

@hanysm@gmail.com At the moment I am not because I have tried multiple times to call in and stuff but the service has been really bad for me so I said I will leave it and its just getting worse, my question is how can my brain be wired like this, its so distressing and I get really scared.

@Zoë_84 Oh okay, it just feels really powerful in my brain and honestly like Its gotten to a point where its just completely put me off everything I do, I appreciate people trying to help but why is my brain constantly trying to make me say them in words is which I don’t understand, before it all use to be locked in my head.

@Shnoda14 I think it's because OCD tends to get worse, when it's not treated. You thinking thoughts you don't want to think was bad enough, feeling the urge to say them is even worse and causes much more agony. OCD "loves" to torment us as much as possible. I am an atheist, but an acquaintant of mine suffered from Religious OCD, too. ERP helped him a lot, but before he started it, I told him, that as god knows everything, he knows that OCD sufferers' thoughts and urges are not reflecting who they are and what they stand for. He surely would not be offended by blasphemous thoughts, or blasphemous words spoken by someone who suffers from Religious OCD.

@Zoë_84 Oh okay that makes sense, but genuinely speaking Im so stressed out from this matter because like it feels so easy to way which is what makes it scary and urges me to say extremely bad stuff about God in words and its so irritating, I can’t shower, eat or even go out im just in my room always trying to keep it together and I am very young so thats why im sad about it, is there any tricks or anything to overcome this?

@Shnoda14 Doing ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) and taking medication really helps. If you have not done yet, I recommend you read the articles I posted links to above.

@Zoë_84 This will make more sense for you, for me these thoughts of urging me to say bad things about God in actual words feel like its at the front of my brain, thats why I feel bizzared from this its like whatever I do its just always there, my question is why is my brain wired like this because a year ago I never ever had any problems but sometimes just flipped

@Shnoda14 There are theories why OCD develops in some people and not in others, but finding out why someone suffers from OCD is not as important as getting treatment for it. OCD latches on things, that are either extremely important to us, or that we fear very much. I suffer from various OCD themes. Some of my themes are about the fear of me harming people, or animals. Others are about things, or situations that scare me. Your OCD latching on to your faith means, you really value your faith and you are afraid of thinking/saying something, that would insult god. Only because you care so much OCD has such a strong hold on you. As I said I'm an atheist and even though I had and still have a lot of OCD themes, I never had Religious OCD. I neither care about faith, or god, nor am I afraid of him. So OCD has no ground to stand on with regards to religion. However, when my niece was little and I saw her a lot, I was extremely worried, that I might harm her. I loved her very much and I would rather have died, than harming her in any way, or anyone else harming her. OCD latched on to that.

@Zoë_84 Yes I understand but the thing with me is that I just want it to be all locked inside my head and not out anymore, like its just irritating how easy it feels for me to say these things in words, whereas before when all this started it was all just locked in my head all the way at the back, now the thought of saying extremely bad stuff about God in actual words rather than just in my head feels like its in the front of my brain which is what I am thinking about 24/7 its so disturbing for me.

@Shnoda14 I don't suffer from your OCD theme, but trust me, that I know how OCD can go from bad to worse. Doing ERP therapy is a way to tame OCD though.

@Zoë_84 can i only do this online or can i do it in person
