I'm Rachel and I'm 19. Reading, playing toontown, and eating delicious food are all things that make me happy! If I had the opportunity, I would travel to space because it would be truly breathtaking to be there and see how it truly looks! I was first diagnosed with OCD when I was 16, but I have been suffering for literally as long as I can remember! My first memory of OCD was on my 4th birthday so it's been a long, terrible road haha! Even though 100% of the females in my family suffer from some OC spectrum disorder, no one noticed my severe OCD at all, which honestly I feel resentful about. I wish I had known sooner and could have begun treatment sooner. But in my family we have subclinical OCD, compulsive skin picking, severe OCD, tic related OCD (me), and trichotillomania! We're one big OC family haha! The kind of OCD that is the hardest for me is sexual OCD (intrusive thoughts, images, sensations) which are very distressing for me, but I keep fighting them even though they're difficult! I also have a comorbid phobia of wasps that is very related to OCD, and one of my biggest achievements with OCD was walking through a cloud of hundreds of wasps while hiking on a trail! The wasps blocked the way down, so it was either walk through the cloud or stay paralyzed with fear for possibly hours! I was able to accomplish walking through hundreds of wasps because of ERP, and it instilled confidence in me that if I could do that, I could do anything!! Great moments come when you least expect them! :)

@rachelrocks7 Seeing the supportive community definitely makes me happy. I think it’s hard to understand ocd if you don’t have it, but I try to learn form others who do which is great. Thanks for sharing your story.
