Somatic OCD
Somatic OCD, also known as Sensorimotor OCD, can be difficult to spot and might feel very confusing: It tends to revolve around a fixation on specific bodily functions or sensations, leading to a preoccupation with them. This might look like constant monitoring, feeling like you need to manually do things (like breathing) that would typically be automatic processes, or it might even involve magical thinking and show up as rigid beliefs and rules about how to do certain things. Have you ever experienced Somatic or Sensorimotor OCD? What does it look like for you?
