hi, I just started taking a low dosage of zoloft(sertraline) for OCD and generalized anxiety and I am on my second day. For anyone who has taken an SSRI or my specific medicine, how long did it take for you to notice a difference?
I started Zoloft on Monday but I haven’t seen a huge difference, but my doctor said you probably won’t notice a difference until it’s been at least a month.
So, I started Zoloft on 25mg and had no improvements for about a month. Then, I had the dosage upped to 50mg, and I want to say, in about a week or so, I saw a huge difference. Of course, I'd been doing other things to take care of myself during this time, but I really do believe the medication gave me that extra boost. It's been about two months or so, and I'm feeling a LOT better. The end goal my psychiatrist has in mind is to up the dose to 100mg, but I'm on 75mg currently, and no negative side effects!
low-dose SSRIs probably won’t have much effect on OCD at all. I didn’t notice any reduction in anything OCD related until I hit 60mg of fluoxetine, and even 80 (the max on-label dose) wasn’t enough. i’m on 100 now and it helps a lot, but it’ll take a solid month for any changes in SSRIs to propagate — they act really slowly. it sounds bad now, but once you get there it’s a blessing in disguise - any mistakes you make with taking it (miss a day, double dose, etc) will mostly be smoothed out. in terms of anxiety, you probably will notice a difference after a month, but anxiety and OCD are so intertwined that it won’t really fix anything until you treat the OCD.

Has anyone had saris make there OCD worse then before they started them. I've always noticed a mental increase when taking ssri or ssnri. But that's the medicine for OCD and anxiety since most doctors dont like benzo and for good reason but still.
Hello everyone I was recently diagnosed with OCD. I’ve spent the last ten years battle extreme anxiety and obsessive thoughts. I recently started taking Prozac. For once in my life my mind feels calm. However, they just upped my dose and my anxiety is bad and I’m having trouble sleeping this is week 2 on the medication. Anyone else experienced this?
I’m one week into taking a new course of fluvoxamine. Has anyone else taken this? When did you see any results and at what dose? I’ve been told it’s the best medication for treating OCD. Curious to hear about other peoples experiences
