Words that meant the world
What’s the nicest thing someone’s said to you about your OCD diagnosis?
What’s the nicest thing someone’s said to you about your OCD diagnosis?
You are making progress even when you don’t see it! ♥️
@✨🦋 Love this!
I was feeling really down because I have ROCD and I was struggling with feeling like a burden and my bf said “Helping you is helping our relationship”. And that helped me because I know I hurt him and our relationship with OCD
@illy._.v Thank you for sharing! This is a great example of our loved ones supporting us through OCD!
"You're more than just your OCD" and "You're in the right place"
@FJustRightOCD YES!!! OCD does not define us!
Your inner world helps your outer world. Be kind to it
I remember one time when my parents were visiting and I had a terrible OCD episode, I felt bad because I knew I wasn’t all there and it was affecting our time together. I told them sorry and my mom said “don’t be sorry, this is when we should be here with you.” It’s ok to not feel ok and it was really comforting to hear I’m not a burden and have the support of my family!
@Dylan S. I love hearing that you have such an amazing support system! Thanks so much for taking the time to share some of your story with the community!
My husband telling me that he knows I'm strong and can get through this. That he believes in me and will always be here for me.
@Lena1998 Love this for you!
My old talk therapist is the one who urged me to find specialized treatment but she told me I was the strongest person she had ever met. And that she meant it. I feel as though she didn’t but regardless it was very kind and I still remember it
@OCDHelp@90 So kind! Love this!
Look how far you have come
@Qwaszx1! Yes! So important to realize how far we have come, especially when we are struggling.
I know your OCD thoughts are not your fault. I am here to work through this with you
Any reminder to be self-compassionate
@Holly Hoyt Being kind to ourselves is so important!
@Mackenzie - NOCD Team Member Yes! And yet so counterintuitive
“You are not your disease.” Or when someone just understands the severity of it that is so much more than being organized.
@eshoup I love this! It’s important to remember that while we may have OCD, it does not define us!
If you can get through an OCD episode you can get through it everytime
You are not your thoughts
@Hopeful58 This!
@Hopeful58 Yes!! 🙌🏻
Don't worry nothing is permanent everything will be fine.
@afee I love the reminder that the feelings are temporary!
How strong and resilent Iam. So grateful for my support team.
@Ctillou Yes! We are stronger than our OCD!
The more we face our fears, the closer we grow to our truths.
@OCD Helping Hand Love this!
This is a quote from a book, “Let people feel the weight of who you are and let them deal with it.” 💛
We can do hard things!
@Anonymous YES WE CAN!
“Life isn’t about bracing for impact, it’s about getting up when you fall <3”
@lennywilliams This is AWESOME!
“Power of choice.” My first OCD said those words to me so many times I actually got them tattooed on my arm. We don’t get to choose to have OCD, but we can choose to take our lives back.
@Slicey Yes!!! While we can’t change the past, we can control our future!
“I’m really sorry you have to go through such difficulties in this world “

@Clappingmantis Yes! Thoughts are just thoughts!
A 14 year old girl told me I was a sweet person today. Talking to her and her father was something of an exposure for me and for her to end with that made my day.
“Proud of you for doing hard things!”
@RenD ❤️
@Mackenzie - NOCD Team Member What exactly happens with erp therapy
I experience severe episodes of ROCD, during which I often feel like I am too much to handle and difficult to deal with. One time, my boyfriend reassured me by saying, “You are not difficult or too much; you are worth the effort.”
@eluzvilchez Love the reminder that we are worthy!
“It’s not your fault.” -my lovely bf
Life is more than walking on eggshells or a mental illness. Your worries and thoughts are soooo little compared to how big life is. Your story matters no matter how unique it is. You are valid.
@Anonymous We are SO vaild!
It has been a battle since 20 years old
@Fighting Irish You are not alone!
@Mackenzie - NOCD Team Member I appreciate that ,but it still doesn't change the fact that I feel like one of the misfit toys in that Christmas episode
Not everyone is born perfect
I not trying to be perfect ,but my mind would love to be at piece and thank you for your kind words
I once had a therapist tell me to remember the word sonder. It really put into perspective that I’m not the only one who faces my ocd challenges. It may not seem nice but it helped to feel a little less alone.
