I relate! I kept being told i was just experiencing anxious and depressive symptoms, but i knew it wasnt the same! OCD sucks ass but it was so relieving to actually hear a professional validate the fact that i was experiencing something more specific. Now as ive been taking medications and treatments specifically for OCD, I have a much better attitude regarding therapy and professional intervention. It felt pretty useless earlier, and now it really pushes me and challenges me (but in a good way of course, thanks ERP)

I’m still looking into proper treatment I found that by being told I didn’t have ocd and then being told I do sometimes puts me in this weird limbo where I then start to doubt if i do in fact have ocd, but I’m glad I have a doctor taking me seriously now as it was super distressing before
