breathing.
how to know if it’s anxiety or something else when you feel like you can’t breathe.
how to know if it’s anxiety or something else when you feel like you can’t breathe.
Also, someone once told me that if you ever feel like that and you pass out, your body will automatically take over your breathing so it is not life threatening (unless it is asthma but then you would definitely not be able to breathe at all) so if you are breathing and getting oxygen in, your body will fix it for you (some people faint due to hyperventilation but that is still not life threatening and common)
@Emma34 that is one of my biggest fears , is passing out. i hope that never happens to me
@kayla. Awww no I don’t mean to scare you, passing out is also one of my biggest fears as well and that’s why I panic when I feel faint. I meant to say like if you do pass out your body will automatically readjust. I hyperventilated many times and didn’t pass out (thank God) so don’t worry about it. I just finished hyperventilating now 😂 so don’t get scared of my comment. Just wanted to let you know that your body got you by God’s will and anxiety (as bad as it feels) is a normal response.
@Emma34 i know what you meant ❤️. feeling faint is the worst it’s so scary & aw im sorry i hope you’re better now!
Anxiety I felt like that the other day freaked out but then I remember is anxiety I let it pass then I was good recommendation when you feel that way remember you breathing fine it just a anxiety symptom focus on your days continue to do whatever you was doing and watch how you feel back to normal
@Monii but i always think what if it’s not anxiety & then that just makes it
@kayla. worse*
@kayla. Did you get a chance to check your lungs first with a doc to make sure? Regardless, anxiety DEFINITELY makes you feel like you can’t breathe when you are already breathing. This is something I also suffer from time to time so I totally understand how scary it is. It’s like the most uncomfortable sensation. One thing you can do is breathe in slowly from your nose and breathe out slowly from your nose.
@Emma34 i do feel better now
@kayla. Me too what if is a blood clot in my lungs what if is my blood pressure ? but then I m like whatever let’s see and wait we will find out if is that or not and the sensation goes away I hate ocd so annoying
@Monii I also had the fear of blood clot in my lungs 😭especially because I was on a 12 hour plane ride a few months ago and convinced myself I had a blood clot that went to my lungs and ended up in the er for nothing. What I learned is that if you do have a blood clot, it’s not going to be just shortness of breath but other symptoms that you will know something is wrong and it won’t go away. There will be like severe pain and feeling faint, etc. if you jus feeling shortness of breath with no other symptoms it is most likely anxiety especially if you can speak cause if you can’t breathe for real then you can’t speak.
@Emma34 Yes I get those thoughts when I flying as well yes there’s always other symptoms with a clot I never had one but I learned that from the doctor is hard living with ocd I don’t understand why we have to suffer so much
I am feeling this tonight
@Tea and Honey i hate it.
Have been struggling with somatic breathing ocd. I start feeling like I can’t breathe and start feeling faint. I have a performance this weekend and my biggest fear is that I won’t be able to sing. I worry that I’m not gonna be able to perform cause it also causes a wave of fear and I’m scared I’m gonna feel too faint where I’m gonna have to go run off stage. I start hyperventilating and I don’t know how to stop it. My mind just makes me aware and then I eventually start hyperventilating. Any tips? I’ve tried just acknowledging it but it hasn’t helped the hyperventilating much. Any tips please? I have to go on stage for tech in 50 mins
PLEASEEE READ!! I know this sounds ridiculous but lately I’ve been soo hyperfocused on my breathing. I feel like I’m not breathing right/properly, it’s hard to explain.. it just feels wrong or like my breathing pattern is wrong. How that’s possible? I have no clue. I’ve had this all day. Has anyone ever experienced this?? My doctor keeps saying anxiety but I just feel like something isn’t right.
I feel like I’m going to stop breathing and it makes it seem like an effort just to do it. I just want to be normal again and have my breathing go back to being automatic. Idk how to beat this, I’m constantly worried about it
