can anyone give me some insight on this? i was given 20 mg of prozac by my doctor to help me calm down while i wait for a psychiatrist appointment for ocd (i went in for an ekg because i was worried. nothing was wrong) yesterday was the 2nd dose, should i expect anything? i almost feel like it keeps me up at night since i take it around 7 pm, and i already have been sleeping poorly for a week or so.
It takes about 4-8 weeks to start working light it’s supposed too. I’ve never taken an SSRI, just letting you know what I’ve heard.
Give it about 3-6 months.
Hello, I have been on Prozac over 20 years. Two days in your system shouldn’t have an affect. If anything it might make you a little tired. You are definitely over thinking it… which is also normal. I would also not look up side effects on line because you will send yourself in a head spin. This drug has been around for a long time and has been deemed pretty harmless considering the fact that, well it a pharmisudical drug. If something is off it will be subtle and your doctors will just change it, no big deal. You got this, let the meds do its job 😸

I was so young and I don’t remember the first two weeks but since then I’ve come across people throughout my life have been on it and they have not had any crazy issues. Let me ask my cousin because she recently was put on it but since she’s been on it which has been a few months, she feels so much better and can handle life in a more productive way. It’s not gonna cure your OCD, but it takes the edge off.
i sure hope it does... any amount of relief from OCD's madness is welcome
Prozac worked great for me for 15 years!!! I didn’t have any real issues with it, and it minimized my emotional swings
also, would it be possible if i could change the time im taking it to the morning? i just learned it could cause insomnia, which is definitely what i felt last night.
You should take it in the morning if it’s causing insomnia.
I have been taking Prozac 40mg daily it seems to be helping my ocd . I read that 60-80 mg has seemed to help people more with ocd Wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Thanks
Hi all, I’m curious is anyone taking medicine for their OCD and if so which one and is it helping? I’ve been on Prozac for almost 7 weeks and I just don’t think it’s doing much. I’m only on 30mg so perhaps I need to get to 40.
Has anyone been prescribed Escitalopram for their OCD? And if so what was your experience like. I just got into my 2nd week of it and got bumped up to 20mg. Today has been weird because my anxiety is gone which has been for a bit but the thoughts seem stronger today especially the Harm related ones. Almost like commands now. Can anyone relate?
