I'm Ian Reeder, a therapist here at NOCD. Ask Me Anything in the comments below!
Hi, I'm Ian. Originally from Indiana, I’ve lived in Austria and now call Texas home. My hobbies and interests include my love for video games, tabletop games, movies, and my appreciation for both dogs and cats. I’m also an avid audiobook listener. My journey into therapy began with a simple yet profound question: Why do people get stuck? That curiosity evolved into a deep passion for helping others break free from the patterns that hold them back so they can live more authentically. Mental health is personal to me—both my family and I have faced challenges like generalized anxiety disorder and major depressive disorder. That firsthand experience, combined with specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) through NOCD, led me to focus on treating OCD. Simply put, ERP is the gold standard of treatment and it works. People I work with often describe my approach as candid and honest. While I bring expertise in OCD treatment, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. Together, we can navigate the challenges of OCD as a team—because real recovery happens through collaboration. If you're struggling, know that your pain is real and valid. You don’t need the perfect words to describe what you're going through; what matters is that you’re not alone. At NOCD, we’re here to help you find relief and rediscover the most authentic version of yourself. I'm here to answer all your questions about OCD. Simply drop them in the comments and I'll respond to every one!
