This Thursday: Workshop on taboo & disturbing OCD thoughts
Living with intrusive thoughts that feel taboo or disturbing can be scary, mortifying, and incredibly isolating. At NOCD, we understand this deeply, which is why we're dedicating our upcoming free workshop on Thursday, February 27 at 12 PM ET / 11 AM CT as a safe space for anyone with sexual, harm-related, and other taboo intrusive thoughts that often leave people feeling trapped in silence. We hope to provide an environment where anyone who may feel ashamed, disturbed, or guilty about their thoughts, or embarrassed to share their experiences with others, can feel heard and understood, no matter what their OCD theme is. This event will consist of a discussion about managing sexual, harm-related, and other taboo thoughts, followed by a Q&A. In this workshop, please know that you will never have to disclose what you’re struggling with if you’re not comfortable doing so. Others with OCD in the group understand you, and may even be experiencing similar debilitating and frightening OCD themes. This workshop will be led by Tracie Ibrahim, LMFT, CST, our Chief Compliance Officer. Tracie has dealt with taboo intrusive thoughts herself and helps others conquer them as a NOCD Therapist. She also openly advocates for destigmatizing taboo OCD themes on Instagram under her handle @tabootracie. For your privacy, all participant cameras will remain off for the duration of the event. The Q&A will have an option to submit questions anonymously. The discussion will be recorded, and a recording will be shared with anyone who registers for the event. Register for the Q&A here to reserve your spot.
