Hi! I'm Darla, a therapist here at NOCD. Ask me anything about OCD in the comments below!
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Anderson, Indiana. I have a 24-year-old daughter and a 21-year-old son. I enjoy music, art, and spending time with loved ones, with hobbies in drawing and painting. I watched my father suffer from mental illness, and it affected my family tremendously. I developed a curiosity and interest in helping people improve their lives and heal, which drove me to become a therapist. I recognize the current shortage of therapists specializing in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and remain deeply committed to acquiring the skills needed to assist individuals grappling with OCD symptoms. I aspire to provide guidance and empower you to build the tools and skills that can transform your life for the better. I'd like to think that my therapy members experience a sense of ease in engagement, comfort, and understanding during our interactions, cultivating a truly supportive and trusting environment. If you're struggling with OCD, you are not alone on this journey. Many others, even here in this special community, are facing similar symptoms and challenges. Together, we can discover the support and strength needed to overcome them. I'd love to know, what has been your experience, if any, with therapy? Please share with me in the comments below.
