Every person I’ve seen commenting or making posts has been some of the most selfless and respectful people I’ve ever met. You are all truly admirable and deserve to get through whatever subtype of OCD you’re dealing with.

You can always get support! I understand the struggle, the constant fight inside yourself is, in my opinion, one of the scariest things a human being can experience. What always keeps me going and holding on is the fact that people that are bad people aren’t up here, they don’t care they don’t look for answers. I talk to horrible people everyday, murderers, rapists, violent personalities. Those types of people don’t question themselves or intentions, they don’t care. You struggle BECAUSE you’re good. OCD can, and absolutely will, attack you at your most vulnerable with the things that make you feel most vulnerable. Anything from contamination to violence. For OCD nothing is off limits.
@Hexxi Please comment. Just say if follows along the OCD pattern or not. I don't need reassurance per se! My daughter was laying across me and every time I breathed a certain way I was getting a groinal sensation. I kept breathing like that anyways (ugh idk why), and then my mind told me I had hurt/a**aulted her that I might as well do something else to hurt because what's more. So idk why or what overcame me other than the thought of doing it because my mind told me I had hurt her already ("my mind literally made me question what to do and I guess the only thing I could come up with was using my elbow) and causing another feeling but it came across my mind to elbow her, and I elbowed her crotch or side/thigh area. Which caused another very unwanted groinal sensation. Then I began FREAKING smooth out. And I've been stressing since. I feel like as a mom I don't deserve to be hers anymore. Idk what overcame me but my therapist says it's all OCD. I was doing SO well! Is this really OCD? This has all caused me a great amount of anxiety. I feel like a terrible person and mom. I just need help knowing if this is OCD. Not wanting reassurance. Just wanting to know if this lines up with the POCD I've been diagnosed with by my current therapist. (edited)
@Anony1314 I have read THOUSANDS of posts regarding harm ocd, POCD, and everything in between. Let me tell you that everything you just typed out, I have read. You are describing to the T what OCD can make you think and make you feel. Read up on “understanding groinal responses in OCD” by the NCIP. You are not abnormal when it comes to OCD and I have no doubt in my mind when I tell you that what you’re experiencing is OCD. I’m sorry if this is reassurance but sometimes you just need to hear it.

@Anony1314 Oh absolutely, OCD will do anything it can to make you believe it. If it didn’t do that, then you would be a person without OCD. Everyone has terrible thoughts and groinal responses and urges at inappropriate times, and sometimes about inappropriate things. People without OCD just know that they aren’t real thoughts and just stupid brain shit. People with OCD have OCD trying to constantly convince them that they ARE their feared thing, but we aren’t.
@Hexxi And that’s where the fear and doubt and shame come from. The actual person we are.
@Hexxi But the reason why this reassurance isn’t going to work. Is because your main goal is to become ok with having these thoughts. Not disproving of them. You cannot use logic and rhetoric to get through OCD. It is not possible. It is a scary concept but it works. ERP therapy with a good OCD specialist is basically the only way through it, unless you do it yourself which is much harder and CAN make things much worse if you can’t properly identify your compulsions.

@Anony1314 That sounds exactly like OCD to me. But I am no doctor of course so I cannot legally diagnose you, it’s always good to get a diagnosis too! Which I believe NOCD can do! I pay 95$ a week to go!
@Hexxi I have been diagnosed with a therapist through NOCD many years ago, and I still see her although she's not a part of NOCD anymore. Thank you so so much friend.
Could I get some support
I’m sure it’s been a rough few days for everyone, maybe even weeks or months. Hell, this last YEAR has been up and down for me! But I wanted to take this moment to congratulate everyone for coming this far. It’s no small feat! OCD is a killer, and it’s good at its job! The fact that all of you are still here fighting is a testament to how strong you are! We may not have the answers or explanation to everything, and that’s okay. We have to stay in the present, not the past or the future. Remember to practice being uncertain! It’s hard to remember the good days we’ve had despite all these horrible ones! There’s no scar to show for happiness, but we’ve got plenty to show for misery and pain. Keep hanging on, you’ve got this!
To my dear OCD friends, I just want to take a moment to say how grateful I am to know each of you. Your courage, honesty, and support have meant more to me than you know. In the trenches of this struggle, it’s easy to feel alone, but then you all show up (raw, real, and brave) and remind me what strength truly looks like. Some days the emotions hit like a wave, or like a distressed baby crying out for comfort. And instead of pushing that pain away, we’ve learned to sit with it. To cradle it. To breathe with it. To say, “You’re allowed to be here, and I won’t run.” That is powerful. That is healing. Exposures are not just tools, they’re acts of defiance. Each time we step toward our core fears instead of away from them, we’re not just surviving… we’re becoming ocdemonslayers. We’re refusing to let a false alarm dictate our worth or our reality. That’s no small thing. Please remember: nothing in this life is worth ending it early. The storm feels so loud sometimes, but storms do pass. Life has seasons, and the darkest ones are often followed by the most beautiful dawns. Hold on. You are not your thoughts. You are not alone. God is good through it all; in the fear, in the doubt, in the healing, in the stillness. Even when we can’t feel it, His grace holds us steady. He sees the battle and walks it with us. We're all made of different blood, each of us is different, but remember that these intrusive thoughts are simply lies—yes, lies, each of us is aware of it, and even though everything seems true, let's be honest, it isn't—there's a terrible fear within us, something alien, but let's be honest—life is beautiful, we have so many things to do, but you're wondering what's going on with our motivation?
