that took Lexapro for about 3 years , it was good for a while but gradually lost its effectiveness
at first , I called it the sunshine pill
you took one in the morning and damn if it didn't lighten your mood and brighten your perspective , as if someone turned on the Sun inside you
I've always had rather vivid and lucid dreams
so I don't know if the Lexapro contributed to that at any point
but eventually my body developed a tolerance
and the chemical imbalance ignored the effects of the Lexapro
however if you're seeing the result you want but are having some side effects skip a day take it every other day or every third day , but you want to keep it in your system , but the reduction in milligrams should help relieve some of the side effects you are describing
I'm no doctor
I'm only speaking from past experience
I was prescribed Seroquel shortly after I discontinued the Lexapro
this was not a good thing
the inability to determine if you're awake or dreaming
is not a laughing matter
to lose 3-4 days because you've been asleep but you can't remember being asleep
an increase in urges to act out violently , ( most likely stem from sleep deprivation , because you don't know if you slept or not ) extremely short-term memory loss ,
for instance you make plans with somebody on Monday for Friday and you take your medication that night and wake up on Saturday .
scary part is being unable to remember what occurred between Monday and Saturday , only snippets of images , you don't know if it really happened or not , and if you're already dealing with obsessive compulsive disorder , you'll be on a mission to find out , and because of the uncertainty it creates , you'll doubt the most trusted witnesses you know , Seroquel in my opinion is an extremely dangerous drug
just take that as some friendly advice
I've already lived through it I won't do it again
Lexapro , is effective and more manageable ,
as I said , if you're seeing the desired results but are having some side effect , lower your dosage by skipping a day or two but be sure not to skip too many days , just find the balance
I got back on Lexapro just a few years ago , and by regulating the dosage as I described , I found a nice balance , very little to no side effect , and a good portion of the benefit I was seeking
