@Someone99 Yup. Talking about the bus. I’m so worried that it’s going to ruin my life. I’m not entirely sure if I was wrong. But the person behind me stopped so I assume I was. In Delaware it could result in jail time! And I’m so scared. I don’t want to lose my career. And I just found out I’m getting promoted. Worst timing.

@Catlove9 That's awesome about the promotion!!! And our old friend OCD is picking on you today. Ok, let's step back and refocus... remember, nothing IS happening, your anxiety is caused by what if, all the things that might happen... I wasn't there when it happened so I can't agree or disagree about whether or not you should or shouldn't have stopped. Maybe you should have, maybe you shouldn't have. You can't know for sure. We're the police called??? Again, maybe, maybe not, you can't know for sure. What you do know is that you're home, you're safe. Allow the yucky feeling to just be... don't chase the thoughts or relive the moment...

@Catlove9 The company I work for posted a position I'm looking in to. I currently drive 45 minutes to Easton, PA for my job, which isn't bad because it's 4 days a week. Well, the company has a location right in the town I live, and a position opened up there that I am extremely qualified for, and it's 1st shift. I could walk there in less than 10 minutes! Lol. So I emailed the talent acquisition lady, because I'm only working there 7 months. They have a policy that you can't transfer for 24 months in a position. She said she's looking in to making an exception because of my location and qualifications! No idea what will happen, praying 🙏🏼!!

@Someone99 They have to keep the role up for 2 weeks but I’ll start interviewing hopefully next week. It’s a director level, so it’s a great step in my career. I really hope it works out. I love what I do. Part of me though wishes I could just go live on 100 acres in the mountains and live off the land lol.

@Catlove9 Wow, a director...you're going to be too good for a low life like me ...😭 Lol!!! Just kidding of course. That's great! I'm hoping it works out for the best for you. And yes 100 acres in Montana, the lowest population per square mile state. Lol. Or, a tropical island living in a grass hut under palm trees and eating fresh fish and mangoes. Lol!!!

@Someone99 Partly. But now there are new ones as well. I’ve wanted a promotion for two years and now that it’s finally so close, I’m thinking of all the ways it could go wrong. For example. I walked out of work with a guy friend and now I’m worried people will think I’m having an inappropriate affair (I’m not). I’m worried any little thing I’ve said or done will be found out, even if it’s not bad. I legitimately am so worried. This role is perfect for me. I wrote the job description lol! My boss has told me it’s all but mine but I keep thinking of other stupid stuff that could derail this. I’ve wanted it so long.

@Catlove9 I can see how this would be a place where thoughts can get the best of you. Just stay present, recognize the thoughts are just that... thoughts. There's no real merit to them. The outside world doesn't know or hear your thoughts, the what if's in your mind. They see you as the qualified, capable person who deserves the position. You're worthy. :-) 💕

@Catlove9 I'm doing ok. Still replaying previous job experiences. It was strange, yesterday I knocked a glass bottle of a supplement I take daily out out the cabinet in to the granite counter and it broke. What was strange was as I was beating myself up over it in my mind, ex coworkers faces were popping up in my mind. It's like they were jeering at me in my mind, useless, f' up, failure, see I told you so....and so on. First time I ever noticed that in response to making a "mistake". Gonna have to work on that one.

@Someone99 That happens to me sometimes. Or I can see peoples faces when I perceive a mistake. Same thing. It’s really tough. I still consider it intrusive.

@Catlove9 It definitely is intrusive. And I wonder if there's not an underlying reason, am I holding on to a grudge, holding on to hate, holding on to unforgiveness... Of course that can lead to another rabbit trail, lol. But I'm always examining my heart. That stuff is dark and it's not who I want to be.

@Someone99 I know what you mean. And I understand not wanting hate to be there. But maybe there is no reason? Maybe it’s just a random thing that popped up. Or that’s most likely what it is.

@Someone99 Really? I’m glad I could help! I think we try to attach meaning to all our thoughts and feelings, and that’s where we get wrapped around the axle. And in the macro view, what does any of this mean anyway? We will never know what life means. And if we cannot figure that out, we definitely won’t be able to figure out anything else.

@Catlove9 Yeah that's part of it, I attach meaning to things like that. It's like even efforts to not respond to OCD with OCD, is OCD. Lol. The brain is wild. I think we find meaning of life, through our lives. Loving, giving to others... Maybe.

@Someone99 I’m struggling with finding something more to make me feel fulfilled. I love work but there has to be something more I can contribute.

@Catlove9 It is. Self is always at the center? Yuk. Lol. But success is a blessing, and maybe we're given more so that we can give more...and not hoard it. Like they say, we can't take anything with us. So, I know this family at church, their son grew up in the town I live in. He's married now and has a few kids of his own. They live in Guatemala running a shelter for abandoned and trouble children. They literally have already found a baby in a garbage can and brought it in. They adopted several kids who came through there homes, and I believe there's currently 40 or more kids in their homes. To me, they are heros.

@Catlove9 Yeah, and when they come visit a couple times a year they talk about all they do like it's nothing, just another day at the office. Lol. So do you listen to country music? I always sing along to that Randy Travis song when it's on. If I ever get the courage to do karaoke, maybe I'll sing that. 🤣

@Someone99 So my boss didn’t tell my team about the role posted. So everyone in the group chat today was asking if anyone knew about it. I didn’t say anything. But when a friend in the group reached out to me one on one, she asked me if the role was posted for me. I told her “I wouldn’t say it was created for me but I gave some input. I applied and have to go through the process so we’ll have to see what happens. I’m nervous and am thinking of all the things that could go wrong but hopefully it works out.” But now I’m worried I said too much. But I also didn’t want to lie because if I do get it, that would look worse.

@Catlove9 It doesn't sound silly at all. You're an INFP. William Shakespeare and J.R.R. Tolkien are as well. You're in pretty good company when it comes to a dynamic, creative mind. Maybe you can start by writing fictional short stories? I love this!!! 🙂

@Someone99 I’m an INFJ! But I’m still super creative. I did start writing a book so I’m going to try to follow through. Okay. I just hate being in that position. I don’t like to lie because I feel that never ends well. The truth will come out at some point and I will look worse.

@Catlove9 That's tough, waiting was never one of my strong points either. I'm sure it's all just the process with the company. I'm really in a downward spiral with real event tonight. It's over 7 months ago and it keeps hold of me. My mom has been a challenge since my dad passed a year ago. I spent time with her for mother's day, of course, and she's so draining. Like talking about conversations she has with my aunts and cousins and saying she tells them her kids ignore her and don't want anything to do with her... Then the internal voices start condemning me, like it's toxic.

@Catlove9 I just want to go far away, but do I have to take my brain with? Lol

@Someone99 Haha. Unfortunately the brain goes everywhere. I’m sorry you’re going through this. My mom can be super difficult, so I kind of understand. My mother likes to play the victim and always makes me out to be the bad guy. Sounds like you go through something similar. My friend told me today something that’s helped a little. It’s something we already know but forget. We can’t change what we did or what happened. It’s over. And worrying about it will not change it or make it go away. It’s such a simple concept, yet so hard to put into practice. I can’t change that I’m an impatient lunatic who had to race to take that test. And you can’t change what happened 7 months ago. But you can live your life. Who you were then, isn’t who you are now. I guess in a way be thankful the OCD allows us to grow and change fast because when we make a mistake, we make sure we know it and it makes us better.

@Catlove9 It is so simple, yet difficult. And yes, she definitely plays the victim. That was a common theme my whole life. I hate when I see the things that annoy me about her, in me. Thank you for this! 🩵

@Someone99 Oh, my supervisor spoke with me first thing today. The department manager was asking him about me inquiring about the position open in my neighborhood. He was wondering if I'm unhappy, if I'm looking for another job. I assured him it's not that, this is a really good company to work for, and that I looked in to it because it's close, day shift, and I think I'm very qualified. He's going to follow up with the manager tomorrow... They're going to be talking about me. 🫣 Lol. So who knows what will happen

@Someone99 Your mom sounds like my mom. She still doesn’t understand my OCD or how I am. It’s very upsetting. OH MY GOODNESS!!! That is great news! Congratulations. I really hope it works out for you. It sounds like they want to make it work!

@Catlove9 No one in my life understands, it can be draining. It really angered me at first, but I learned to realize they can't really understand if they don't experience it themselves. That's why I need this community and friends like you. :-) My supervisor said he's not one to keep people back, but they're trying to hire more here and can't find people, so me leaving will hurt them. Plus the policy is 24 months... But at least they're having the conversation for now.

@Someone99 It can be very lonely. That’s for sure. They can always make the exception! I’ve seen that happen quite a bit. When will the conversations take place?

@Catlove9 Possibly tomorrow between my supervisor and manager. If they approve I'll interview with H.R. and at the location. Who knows, I may not like the place, they may not like me... Or whatever, so it'll be a process.

@Someone99 Yes. But i can’t sleep. I’m really spiraling. I want this job so bad. Basically I’m already doing it but it comes with the title I know I deserve and have deserved for 2 years! This process is tearing me apart. I’m thinking of everything that could go wrong. And now it’s the personality test. Worried I didn’t answer it correctly. Those things are odd bc the questions could be applicable depending on the situation! I wish they could have just used my INTJ test lol. I wrote the role. My boss has made is seem like it’s mine. But I can’t help but worry that something will happen. They’ve screwed me before. I’m so worried it will happen again.

@Catlove9 Just remember all the worrying in the world won't help, it'll only make you sleepy tomorrow during the day. And what happened in the past is behind you. I'm really hoping this goes quickly for you! And yes, INFJ people are awesome, someone told me once that Jesus was an INFJ. Lol. It's the most rare, INFP is second most rare. 😁

Then as I was leaving today, someone asked me about the role because someone they know was interested. It’s so sucky to have to deal with that. So I just told them I’m interested too and the best person to talk to is my boss if they want more info.

@Someone99 Thank you! Had the second interview today. It was scheduled for 45 minutes but went 90 minutes. I asked for feedback and his only feedback was “elevate your presentation and delivery of the stuff you already know and you already do.”

@Someone99 I won’t hear for a while because i have two more interviews 🙄. I feel like shit. Haven’t slept. Worried I’m not going to get it and that they will think I’m not ready. Yah. It’s been raining here all day yesterday as well. I live in the woods so I always have leaves all over.

@Catlove9 Remember, replaying won't help, or hurt, it's done... You did great, I'm sure you did. If they didn't think you were a solid candidate, they wouldn't be moving ahead with more interviews. Probably what anyone in that position would have to go through.

Like, if we have a broken arm, we need a little professional help to get it fixed... Why is mental health so shameful? Like there's a stigma. Maybe supposed to be mental health awareness month. Sometimes I think the world says nice things with a smile on their face, yet turns and murmurs about mental health challenges like we're low life people. I don't know where that came from, just venting. You're friendship here is very special to me, I value you a lot, and would help you in a minute anyway I can. You're certainly not alone.

@Someone99 My allergies are AWFUL! And it makes my OCD feel so bad because I feel it makes me depersonalize. I’m not married but I live with my boyfriend. He’s a very logical person so he doesn’t understand OCD but I will say he’s super patient and accepting. He also doesn’t give into my compulsions. It is hard though just for me. Because I never feel good enough and I know sometimes when I ask the same thing over and over, I drive him crazy lol.

@Catlove9 Lots of pollens this time of year! But yes, I definitely can strain relationships. It's good you find balance in your relationship.

@Catlove9 Had my meeting with supervisor and manager. They didn't close the door, but asked if I'd stay around for another year before looking at a different opportunity. I said I'd respect the policy if that's the decision, they said it's not a black and white decision. I asked if I could at least tour the building, as not an official interview and decide if I'd like to pursue it after the tour. They are going to set that up... So ...still in the running

@Catlove9 So my manager told me today the he supports me in pursuing the position near my house and he's going to start the process to getting me in for an interview!

@Catlove9 Thanks! I'm amazed that it's actually moving forward and so quickly. I figured they would drag their feet. But, it's still not a guarantee, I may not like the job here, so, I'm not going to get too excited

@Someone99 Yah. I had a meeting yesterday with my boss’s boss. I did not get a good feeling after speaking with her. She’s so out of touch with our team. She loves the one guy on our team that the rest of the team cannot stand.

@Catlove9 Great. That's the worst when that happens... Hopefully she'll let your boss make the best decision for the team, which is you. 🙂 I had the email to schedule day and time for me to visit the job here in town. Looks like next Thursday morning. :-) Really looking forward to it. The 33 mile drive in the rain this week got to me

@Someone99 Yay!!! Seems like next week is going to be big for both of us. My last interview is Tuesday! I really hope you get the job. My boss told me yesterday I’m the best fit for the role so we’ll see what happens!

@Someone99 It is funny. And it’s sad. Because I try to life everyone up and everyone should be like that. My last interview is Tuesday! But I hope to hear this week.

@Catlove9 Hopefully you'll have a decision by Friday! Sooner even. :-) waiting is always the worst part. What a weird weather day here today. One minute it looks like the sun is coming out, next minute it's raining!!! I'm so incredibly bored! Me, my son, and my nieces husband are developing an adventure type game. We're 3d printing the game pieces atm, because we're going to all be together tomorrow and have a chance to do a trial game. It's really fun. There's a 100 year anniversary celebration at the fire hall on our little borough today. The weather isn't too good for that. Lol. Anything exciting going on in Delaware this weekend?

@Someone99 Omg that sounds like so much fun! We did yard work today first thing. I’ve had a very bad OCD day today but I pushed through! I did a few Peloton classes and will probably just watch tv the rest of the day. It was cloudy and sunny here all day today. It was very strange.

@Catlove9 Glad you pushed through the OCD. Is it the promotion? So we did a trial run of our game and it was completely awesome! A few minor adjustments, but it really turned out well. My nieces husband is really in to these type of games and has dozens of different ones he brings to every family gathering. We'll see where this goes. Lol. They had a baby girl 2 months ago and she is the absolutely most adorable angel I've ever seen! I always wanted a daughter...😢 Lol.

@Catlove9 So I got to work today and found out I have training scheduled 8am-5pm tomorrow and Thursday...so trying to reschedule my interview meeting that was scheduled for Thursday. And my thoughts say, figures, nothing good will happen, everything always gets messed up because it's me...and so on. So I'm applying the tools, trying to

@Someone99 I’m sorry. My brain would do the exact same thing. It’s hard to keep it straight sometimes. I would be like “oh it must be a sign this isn’t going to work out.” Even though logically, it has nothing to do with it. It just happens. We OCDers like to think it’s all against us and all connected to be against us. I go through the exact same thing.

@Catlove9 Yeah "a sign"... How silly when you step back and look at it from a distance. Lol. Training today is extremely informative. I'm so glad to be a part of a company that is committed to developing its workers, invests in it's work force, I guess is the way to put it.

@Catlove9 Yes! Friday at 10am. It was so nice getting up this morning and ending the work day at normal time. The drive home was bad at that time and the weather made it worse. So I am 100 sure I want a day shift job 1 mile from home! Praying! Praying for you as well. :-)

@Catlove9 Hey! How was the event today!!! I didn't realize that was so soon!. As if you didn't have enough to OCD about! Hope all went well. I'd love to hear about it! You're an amazing person in my mind for doing this! I'm looking forward to my meeting with the local job, it is tomorrow at 10am. @Someone99 Hey! The event was AWESOME. 215 people were on and there were so many comments in the chat and people saying how great this was and how they feel heard. I got so many thank yous. After it was done, I cried because I was so happy. I really hope that job works out for you! I heard today the reason for the hold up on mine is the one dude who interviewed me 10 days ago still hasn’t put in his feedback.

@Catlove9 I almost started crying reading this!!! Wow. I want to hug you!!! 🫂 Guess that'll do. :-) And hopefully that one dude gets his act together and stops the hold up!!!

@Someone99 It was awesome. Wish you could see it. I was so happy it helped people. Yah. I’m mad. It can’t take that long and now it’s holding up everything. Do you know the person you’re interviewing with?

@Catlove9 You're doing what I desire to do, and that's help people. Too often we play the victim, like why me, why am I like this, why did this happen to me... But there can be purpose, and if we don't struggle ourselves, how can we ever help others who do? You're awesome, you're my hero! And you like cats and the number 9!!! 😂 I haven't met him personally, just email. It's a small group of 5 or 6 in that department. I'm sure I'll be able to get a good feel for it being there in person.

@Someone99 All I want to do is help people! I love advocacy! I really hope it works out for you! I’m sure it will be nice to not have that crazy commute. I hate commuting.

@Someone99 My boss said they are extending me an offer but it won’t come until next week. So while I’m excited, I’m also now nervous something will happen.
