Always good to look at the sample size and demographics with studies like these! Also, what does “desire” mean? I feel like some may have interpreted that as simply noticing an attractive woman, while others may think it means actively wanting to cheat. Desire is a vague term!

130 college boys?? I’m surprised that the post wasn’t called out for its obviously influenced source! Plus, again, like anon commented, desire can range from totally different levels! I can think “oh, that lady is attractive” and not want to pursue anything! Desire is way too much of a general word! These studies are just looking for the results they want, not actual real proof!

Hi Chibee, I worked with data which had a lot of discerning data of accuracy and intentions over time that it was disheartening at first but that was part of my job to assess as a human how to improve the data and study on both the user end and data output. Without prior bad data is hard to forsee possible miscommunication with humans and computer calculations (because computer takes things literally so they frame things differently). So like science experiments, it has to be rechecked multiple times in different areas and environments to see if this is consistent data to what intentions irregardless of reputable sources. The internet has made it easy to state or provide statistics with limited information of the source or date or context. So I'm more afraid of humans rather than stats. Even in psychology master classes I overheard it was to be aware as well as diligent as the people of specialty of human psyche to ensure more humans and different areas are included as sometimes the person who did the survey is not heavily motivated, connected, or aware of the survey that they will only go to areas that are surburban because it's stereotype as safer and easier to just go door to door to get the job done instead of different zip codes. That's why a lot of people, funding, quality check, and redo are needed because of human errors. So I take things as a grain of salt now and before sharing I do heavy research. Otherwise it stays archived in my tabloid part of my brain that likes it as fun facts that may not be the whole truth and more fun or shocking to tickle my brain. Which you did find out later about the data to dismiss the data, and that is a whole lot more than what some people can manage when they see any information to quickly spread or dismiss without any effort or concern.
